Another disaster unfolding with the Raiders looking absolutely dreadful in attack completing only 12/21 with the ball. We haven't looked liked scoring and out attack in the Souths twenty has been shocking.

Carney looks lost at half and our ball security is woeful.

This is awful, simply awful.

This is the worst Raiders side since 1982. The amount of stupid mistakes is unbelievable.

How the hell did we win this match?

Souths fell apart late in the second half and Purtell scored when it mattered most.

Thank god we have the bye next week so we can work on what to do when we have the ball.

Dobson needs to come back in for Campese with Carney to five eighth.

The biggest highlight was the wingers. Both were enthusiastic and looked excellent compared to Best and Howell.

The game reminded me of last year, but it was good to win. The handling mistakes were crippling, but i gotta say, Milne and Goodwin played fantastically. I thought they were both very very solid. On form this week i'd have dobson back and campese to the bench but the wingers stay as they were. Milne really showed some toe, and goodwin was great under the high ball.

Good game, goooo raiders.

Well we won so your comments look pretty silly now.

I think it was because the raiders scored more points than souths!

Ah Souths. Any other team would of beaten the raiders by 80 tonight, but not those rabbits. Pride of the league indeed. Now all we need is some of those designer hoodies that souths have and we too can be cool.

Souths were worse but some of the things I saw tonight were shockingly bad. First grade teams aren't supposed to make mistakes like that.

Costigan running down a one metre blind side and then getting pushed into touch five metres out from our own line.

I have no idea what Tom LL was doing with that pass at the end of the game.

The wingers were great and they changed Souths tactics with the bomb taken out of the play book.

Hopefully with the bye, we can come back and play weel at home against the Dragons and get a bit of a roll on.

Is it just me or does greg alexander hate the raiders? He really doesn't hesitate to criticise us. I remember he looked almost uncomfortable after the knights game like something terrible had happened.

Get real Legend. I knew it was you doing the live updates as soon as I read that. A bit of an exaggeration don't you think?

They didn't play well but I'd still rather this side than the 2001 duds or the 2004 class of Smelliott.

That game tonight was the worst I have seen this year from any team. It was diabolical and apart from the form of the wingers and the two points, I can't think of any other positives to take out of this match.

Had we played a team that knew how to score points, we would have been whipped by 60 at least.

We will improve when

1.) We have an extra playmaker in the halves - Campeasy is a good backup at centre but isn't a no 6's bumcrack. Hopefully Dobson is back soon, with an improved defence.

2.) Carney moves back to 6 - seems more comfortable at second receiver.

3.) Zillman has more confidence to make some runs in broken play

think Withers has improved markedly this year but he is better coming of the bench in short spurts it seems, like what he used to do at the Dragons.

Right now we are not the Canberra Raiders but rather the ACT Boneheads. I can't believe how often we come up with stupid errors, even for a young team. It will get better, but geez it's frustrating waiting for that to happen.

Defence was far better than attack tonight - first time all season - but it will be a special night if we manage to string the two together in the same game. I think we can all see that Goodwin + Milne > Howell + Best, regardless of the fact the former two may still have things to work on in their game.

I agree 110% with everything you have said.

The game against the Dragons is crucial for our season IMO. We can build a bit of momentum leading into Origin and hopefully jag a few wins and keep in touch with the top eight.

Milne and the Bronx have to stay, they were fantastic under the high ball. It's a relief to actually have someone now who will contest the highball in attack.

Gotta bring Dobbo back aswell.

Sh*t game but I'm happy with the 2 points.

I thought our scrambling defence was the best of the season by far tonight. We were still opened up a couple of times and failed to lock up the ball carrier, but it was nowhere near as bad as previous games.

Legend, we're certainly not in the '82 class, but I do agree that we continue to come up with some really dumb plays at crucial moments (like getting tackled into touch 20 metres out on an early tackle is simply atrocious).

Handling obviously wasn't great with a few bad mistakes from Zilly, Goodwin and Learoyd-Lahrs for example, but there were also a few mistakes or incompletions recorded as a result of nearly-great passes or plays. If a few of those early ones stuck we'd have been laughing.

Campo's kicking was pretty sh!t though and we clearly missed the Dobbo/Carney combo in attack.

All in all a really gutsy win with solid defence. The best part about it was the fact we KNOW we can do better in attack and we also know we've got players up our sleeve that can improve the team.

Great game from Milne too and Goodwin had a reasonably impressive debut.

We'll learn a lot from that game and it's nice to play crap and still win away...3 tries to 1 as well...

Yeah our defence was a huge positive. 10 points is the least amount of points the Raiders have leaked this year and for mine makes up for the woeful completion rate.
