100% As @strider said, there is no way that anyone could argue that both Ennis & Wighton were not shoulder charges.

The stupidity of it all is now that precedent has now morphed the strict definition of a shoulder charge (which was pretty clear early on for all to understand) to a technical situation which gives rise to barristers to use stop motion stills etc to provide proof of separation. It's all bullshit and poorly managed.

No I think they're both shoulder charges, though Ennis made a token attempt to use his arm. I just think the shoulder charge rule is stupid. If it doesn't hit the runner in the head how is it dangerous? It's more a way for the defender to protect himself. Especially when the attacking player leads with his own shoulder.
