61 is pretty young to be copping that. Good bloke too, I still remember getting his autograph as a kid one Saturday morning at the old Mick Simmons store in Penrith Plaza. He was happy to have a chat and asked me if I played footy. When I told him yes and I was also a hooker it felt like I'd made a new best mate. I think it played a huge part in cementing my love for the Panthers instead of Parra.

The media will probably latch on to this from a CTE point of view.

Best of luck to him. Dementia is a merkin.
Yeh, its very hard to differentiate CTE from Alzheimer's until post mortem, especially if they are just looking at an MRI and haven't done a PET Beta amyloid measure. There's also a theory that brain trauma can be the cause of some peoples Alzheimer's, and growing evidence that Alz and CTE can both develop at same time. Earl days yet in our research.

He’s my dads hero and I named my domestic black panther after him.
I wish him all the best. He’s a great bloke and a big reason why I played and followed footy.

I’m very sorry to hear that.
I know a guy 63 (that I’ve known since I was about 5 yo) that’s been in a home for the last couple of years with early onset dementia.
I don’t wish it on anyone, it is a terrible terrible disease.

I met Roycey at a wake once for a Panther who had passed on.

He was very kind to someone hed never met.

Upon the introduction, we shook hands and he asked me how things were going. Didn’t want to talk about himself at all.

Amazing player and I remember his coaching was attack focused. Very entertaining footy.

Donation is due I’d say.

He’s a fighter though.

Horrible disease. My mum suffered with it before she passed away. It has still broken me to this day.

Very sad, really sorry to hear about that.

I’m not sure how we would cope.

I hope the NRL gets behind Royce and his walk officially. Maybe something for the Panthers to organise and submit on.

Sheensy will be gutted.

Tears for bloody Langer quitting his job while Royce is in real trouble. Ffs.
