A new coach and some experianced players are what is needed. Rubin Wiki, Matt Orford and Morrison would be great buys. Hopefully Parra has the money, too bad Dykes isnt off contract this season.

With the right sort of on-field leadership I think you will find that the likes of Thorman and Witt will blossom without having to outlay big dollars for Orford. Morrison or Wiki are forward leaders - Cayless tends to do rather than talk and some of our guys don't respond well to that - someone to talk them round the field and really tell them some home truths would be of a huge benefit.. Thorman and Witt were talking a damn site more than I have seen from Dykes in recent weeks which was one small positive.

Ruben Wiki is twice the player any of your fowards are. Bar Hindmarsh.

Wiki is probably better than half the forwards at just about every club.

Wiki would ofer alot more in attack, compared to our current lock.

Similar type to that of Jim Dymock or Jason Smith.

It appears that Monaghan and Wiki have been given permission to negotiate with other clubs before the June 30 deadline.

Colonel, have they actually been given permission to talk to other clubs? My understanding is that they are waiting until the June 30 deadline to test their value on the open market.

Joel is a Canberra boy, he's spent his entire life there, and he's keen to stay there. Talking to other clubs will likely increase his value, meaning more $$$.

And Ruben has been with Canberra for 14 seasons, his entire life is based there, so I'm fairly confident he'll eventually re-sign. His concerns are more so with his future after he hangs up the boots.

On field leadership comes from more than just people talking. I know when i played football i didnt look to the 5/8 that was screaming at me and the other forwards to do more work. I looked to our Prop who was able to break 1 or 2 tackles before being put down or our Fullback who has this awesome step and could break the line at will. Leadership is more about what you do than what you say. I dont believe that Witt and Thorman can display the type of leadership that Orford could offer in the halves. Sure it would take money to get Orford and our chances are getting him a low but if you want quality you have to pay for it.

I think Cayless is a great leader. Parramatta have been playing really poorly without him. My reasons behind wanting to get Wiki and Morrison is that seeing there is alot of young players going to be in the side the club needs to find a balance between experiance and youth. On the experiance side Parra would have: Hindmarsh, Cayless, Orford, Vella, Wiki, Morris and Morrison. The youth in the side would be: Grothe, B Smith, Graham, Anderson, T Smith, Mateo, Witt, Armit, Tsoulos and Afasagsama. Hopefully a combination of these 2 element would take parramatta back to the top 8.

8.Cannings
9.Morris
10.Wiki
11.Hindmarsh
12.Cayless
13.Morrison

From what I had heard they were allowed however it seems they are waiting until June 30.

I don't doubt that they would both stay given the time they have been there howecver a club would be very foolish not try for one or both.

I say we go after Monoghan, Wiki and Morrison for next season. We lose Lyon, Widders, and Muspratt and Im sure we would squeeze the money to have these 3 players. They'd really help the Eels. Especially Wiki and Morrison.

It might be hard to get Monaghan and Wiki away from Canberra but there is a definite possibility of luring Morrison away from the Cowboys. He has already stated that he wants to play Origin football and believes his chances will increase if he is playing football in Sydney. The opportunity to play his football in Sydney and along side a current NSW Blue and complete champion in Hindmarsh might be the perfect carrot to dangle in front of him. Without a doubt he'd be my number one priority signing along side Mark Riddell for next year.

Back in the mid-90's Wiki fought hard in the courts to avoid going to leave the Raiders, it'll take a lot for him to uproot his entire life now and move to Sydney. Sorry guys.

I agree and I hope he stays with you guys because I honestly could not imagine him in any other clubs colours. Would be like Fittler joining the green machine; just wrong :D

Wki is one player that acts with great dignity. You can see it when he speaks. He deserves to see a great career out in Green.

I also believe it would be excellent if Wiki could be a one Club player for hsi entire career. To do such a thing is a great honour that is reserved for onyl the elite few these days ie. Steve Menzies.

However, if he is serious about the possiblity of going elsewhere, I would definately have major talks with him. He is a quality player and would be a great asset.
