I went to a Hybrid game I think 2015, Wests Magpies Vs Randwick RU. Basically Wests were a Ron Massey cup side back then up against the biggest Union team in Sydney. The Magpies smashed them and I think some of the tries were long range. It seems like Union players would take a bit of time to adjust to the League rules.
The last game of Hybrid Rugby was last year when Barker College and St Gregory’s College and the result was 47-5 with the Union side winning.

No way they were offering 800k - can you post a link to confirm this

That says 700k I’ve seen others with more
Does he plan to stay in union for 2 years playing in Japan then come back to the NRL?
Nobody knows that’s what league journos say but if he goes good in their World Cup France would be paying more

Would have to play fullback in league to get a million or more

He will be back in 2029 most likely. I believe he wants to play fullback but obviously can't whilst Teddy is playing. This way he gets to go enjoy a home world cup for a sport he likes, gets paid, and can return in 2 years. He is only 25.

They don’t seem short of good juniors

Guy went from being a nobody to being a star in Australia. But maybe he will get mobbed in the streets of Japan

I thought Manu would be returning to be fullback

I get the feeling he wants to be more involved and fullback would be a great position for him to do that. But who knows what will happen, we are all just speculating.

Kangaroos and Origin forward Angus Crichton is set to become the latest Roosters NRL star to defect to rugby after agreeing to a deal with Rugby Australia.

Crichton has agreed to a one-year deal with RA in a bid to play for the Wallabies at the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia, according to informed sources not authorised to comment publicly. He will depart the Roosters and the NRL after the 2026 season.

I see him going as Rugby Union will extend his career somewhat and allow him to go to France and cash up a bit after the World Cup. I can see the attraction, and not many players would be able to make that transition as successfully as he could.

Not sure he can do it in less than a year even with his background in the sport. Both Benji and RTS were schoolboy rugby players and they struggled with the transition (despite RTS's frankly undeserved test caps).

Also, Japan's more likely than France to extend a career. The French season is a slog.

Good luck to him. I’m not sure how many more years he was going to get at the Roosters, especially on big money. He could probably go to Japanese rugby and play another 10 years.

That kid was a junior wallaby wasn’t he?
Yep, Rex was a jnr wallaby.

There's dozens in the NRL, Manlys future halves (Walsh and Large ) were both jnr wallabies captains, alot of hype around tigers Makasini who was part of the jnr wallabies team that beat the All blacks last years.

Rabbits and warriors have signed 2 of New Zealands top Union prospects, Saumaki and Inch.
