Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent - Lomax case settled

Rugby league training is the hardest out of any local football code maybe even including nfl since they are so specialised

Fumblers can mock all they want but Folau and hunt played top level afl for years with zero junior experience

Hayne had a limited impact in the nfl and souths reserve grader is on 50 million in the NFL (Jordan Matila I think it’s spelled)

Obviously in union just about any league players can come in and be on of the top global stars in that sport

Also as you say the money in the nrl generally isn’t high enough even at today’s current salary cap

These are the best rugby players in the world
Outside backs, yes, particularly if they've had experience in Union previously. Obviously there have been cases of them not going so well - Benji Marshall, RTS, Mark Gasnier to name but a few.

Forwards is a lot harder, particularly positionally and skill set wise. Very seldom for a RL forward to transition into Union well - Brad Thorn is the only one who comes to mind. Ben Teo and SBW played in the backs in league, as did Andy Farrell. Willie Mason and Sam Burgess were rather meh in their goes at playing union from forwards to backs. You have Maurie Faasavalu who was a flanker in union, played in the forwards in league and then went back to union - but he only ever played in the UK. Shontayne Hape played a bit of lock and then went to Rugby in the backs too.

Coming back the other way, Zinzan Brooke signed with Manly but got the shits when he found out Matthew Ridge was being paid more so backed out of his deal. Mark Carter was a bust. Leo Thompson's brother a one and done. Have we had many more union forwards have a decent crack at league?

Ray Price, Rex Mossop but the game was different back then as well.

Burgess cops a lot of flack

His club tried him in the forwards but England had him at centre

The fact someone with hands like his played centre for England at a World Cup shows the skill level

Most Union forwards wouldn’t last ten minutes in league the game is way too fast for them

Plus the tackling is beyond them

Lomax just splashed out four million on a beach front pad in the gong

Wonder whose going to foot that bill now

Union journos and fans know they dodged a bullet whilst league journos and managers will be devastated

360 may be dead …. But did anyone actually read the story?

Apparently it’s because Clinton Schifcofske said he was ceasing negotiations with R360 organisers….

WTF ? …haha

Delayed til 2028, confirmed by R360 in a press release
Wont happen, the proposed financial backers have obviously pulled out, give a few months and Tindall will accept its dead in the water.

Is the ten year ban still in place for those who signed? 😂
They didn’t get around to signing any players. But Lomax is effectively ban from the NRL for three (?) years. Terms of his release was he couldn’t sign for another club during the term of Parramatta deal. Parramatta have most likely used that cap space already.
