What? By saying that Perth should not waste money on these guys?

Why does that make you sad?

Who are you recruiting then?

Dolphins had the right strat. But they had it much easier than the Pears.

Perth is literally the edge of civilisation. They will absolutely need to pay overs. They'd be crazy not to look at Lomax and Paperhaus. Quality players like that don't come on the market that often.

They have more coastline than any other state.

Should be down at every beach trying to unearth the next Damien Cook.

I think target some saffers.

Capetown to Perth is more likely than Sydney to Perth. SA looks beautiful but its a bit of a hell hole. And its another step towards dismantling RU by recruiting their players.

Lot of people point to the Saffers…Has one ever played more than a few league games and made an impression ? I can’t recall one in the NRL timeline anyway … good Union players though …surprises me a few more haven’t found their way over here ..

The Bears were talking up SA as a talent pool they wanted to tap into, probably part of what got them over the line as obviously we need to expand our talent pool and reach new audiences.
But now they're in..
They only appear to be interested in undermining our current expansion team in the Titans.

Pommie super league players and juniors is a way better bet with the travel

Especially since super league pays peanuts especially to juniors

SL just added 3 teams, the last thing they needed was a raid from Perth. Though still better than going after the bloody Titans ffs.

We should be picking the teeth out of all the Union talent coming through around the world!
Ireland, SA, France ect.. get all their school boys signed up like we do in Australia and now starting in NZ

Super league players and juniors would be a higher standard for our game than union kids

Plus super league can just fill them with journeyman Aussies or even png players like London have been

It would be good for England having a lot more pommies in the nrl

It’s been talked up a number of times over the decades …was going to be something during Super League days … anyone remember Tiaan Strauss ?

I like this idea, there must be so much talent in France and SA particularly and you can only fit so many players into the national team.

A few key gun recruits, could make their national teams more competitive too.

I want SL to come up to NRL standard.

You want to raid them of all their talent..

Thought you were a League fan??

No matter the subject every post you make is negative. Smile dude
This whole thread is slitting their wrist over Perth recruits, I'm saying that same pessimistic bullshit existed for the Dolphins.

You don't need salary cup busting players of questionable loyalty, you just need to recruit quality footy players.

Perth will be fine, and LU is full of pessimistic doomsayers

I think the way league can edge ahead of rugby on the world scene is to "spice up" conversions. Rugby's weakness is what we league fans see in it, which is too many players on the field, too many boring kicks for goal and too stuck to their English rules.
League should make the conversion the most exciting 30 seconds in sport.
