Instead of creating a thread for this one instance i figure that anyone with similar experiences can post here.

Image on the main page of the Brisbane times website using a Steeden football with the NRL logo on it on a story about serious injuries occurring during scrums at schoolboy rugby union matches.

emailed the author with

"Is there a particular reason you have used an image of a Steeden football with the NRL logo on it in relation to a story about serious injuries occurring during schoolboy rugby Union matches?

Surely you have a stock image of a rugby union ball? I’d suggest a change"

received a reply saying 'thanks for the email ' wasn't automated as she addressed me by name but no mention of a change

Minor issue i know but still i feel as though unless these instances are pointed out we will never change the way the sport is perceived/treated.

I saw that this morning as well, hard to tell if it is intentional to deflect any bad news on RL and away from Union or shear incompetence from the journo/editor.

Either way you can see why the profession is dying and having to resort to outrage/controversy in every story.

I have one for you.

Luke Foley was on the news yesterday bagging the Libs for chasing the 10 World Cups in 10 years.

He said "We just had the RLWC and Sydney didn't host a game".

Wrong Luke, Sydney hosted two Mens games, and all of the Women's games.

Do you think any reporter had the savy to pull him up? Nope.

And that was only because the RLWC organizing committee gave them 2 token games. The NSW Government didn't give a f**k about the event.
