who bought it todays theres 4 pages on jamie the eels and why smith should be dumped apparantly lyon in the interview keeps insisting theres was no fall out with smith :?

There is basically nothing in RLW....front cover has a piccy of Brian with the title "Its Over - Why Parra Must Sack Brian" - then next to that it says "Exclusive - the real reason Lyon left".....you turn to the 2 pages and there is NOTHING that hasn't already been said.

The Jamie interview goes on about life being hard for a pro footballer and that it just isn't what he wants - it has a quote from Jamie that there is not an issue with Smithy.

The rest of the 2 pages does nothing but list players who have left/joined and all the usual rumours and stuff that has been talked about for god knows how long.....there's also a small bit of a chat with Brian with nothing new in it.

So despite the cover looking like a "big tell all" publication, its basically seet F A.

PS: oh yeah, there's that interview with the ugly guy too ;-)

There was also a little piece in "THe Mole" that says that the letter from Lyno leaked to Hadley was leaked by someone with interests in Manly so the Eels will give Lyon a release to play for the Eagles

The Mole is right up with Tony Peters and Rebecca Wilson in terms of credibility but it was kinda interesting in a small way

Smithy is not liked by a lot of players-that is kept quiet but Talllis,Ryan,I .Hindi, Lyon, Hodgo, A.Raper-he thinks he is hitler, and Moodie has bit his tongue for a while as i know that his wife gets along with Smithy, but Jason didnt enjoy playing his style whatsoever.
I also know that A Raper told Smithy straight one day to f.... off -not good-but his personality brings every creative spirit and enjoyment away from them.

well they are having a meeting to grant hima conditional release to play for wee waa so hopefully he will be back in blue and gold by the end of the year/start of next year

I was actually pleased with the article after reading it today. It would seem that it is just rumours regarding Jamie having a fallout with Smith, I can sympathise with him a bit, what he was saying about how he kept missing his friend's weddings as such. Maybe he was just sick of living in the city. Hadley must have some egg on his face, anyone read that apparently Hadley's "proof" was a false leaking by someone from Manly just wanting Lyon to join the club.

I noticed the Smith reiterated that he would step aside if he felt that someone else could do a better job (or words to that effect).

If our season doesn't improve, and Smith doesn't step aside, Fitzgerald should at the very least strip Smith of his personel decision making powers and bring someone in to recruit/retain players, negotiate contracts etc. At least allow Smith to focus solely on coaching the players he has.
