This Is Only Start For Fiji Bati-RabelePublish date/time: 11/11/2008 [17:11]

Vodafone Fiji Bati Coach Joe Rabele has predicted that their qualification for the World Cup semifinals will make league the country's number 1 sport - ahead of rugby union.

Rabele said that what the Bati has achieved in the world cup, no other team has managed to do, and said this is only the start for the Fiji Bati and it will soon be recognised as one of the major sports in the country.

The Fiji Bati has created history by becoming the first Fijian rugby league team to make it to the semi final of the Rugby League World Cup beating Ireland by 30 points to 14.

They will now face Australia in the semifinals on Sunday at 9pm.

Meanwhile the Rugby League World Cup trophy - which was lost in transit after being couriered from Melbourne to Brisbane - has been found.

The Trophy was recovered in a container on the Brisbane Airport tarmac. RLWC General Manager David Nissen said the trophy was now at Burleigh Bears clubhouse for a promotion.
