Union for me. I HATE AFL with a passion. :) I am a bit of an All Blacks supporter. I grew up learning and watching them. I dont live in NZ and I was born in Auz, BUT I do have dual citizenship. My dad is a Kiwi and has gone for the All Blacks his WHOLE life.

3 years it took Ricky Stuart.

And Dally Messenger?

How long a bow is that?

He played in a rep side because he was part of the formation of the game.

Anyone actually still living that you can think of latte?

Sailor walked into the wallabies, but only because they paid so much money for him... he's utterly useless and the new young kid from south africa, Clyde Rathbone, has taken his place.

To say that Union players couldn't make it in league is rubbish... players like Jerry Collins, Carlos Spencer, Nathen Gray, Clyde Rathbone, Stephen Larkham, Chris Lathem etc would all make it in league easily.

Crap.

Where are the precedents?

What Union player has come to Rugby League and waltzed into a SOO or Australian team?

None of those blokes you've mentioned would walk into any NRL side, let alone rep sides.

Yet Wise Kativerata IS about to play for the Waratahs.

you seriously have never watched a game of union in your life have you?

Was the question too difficult to answer?

I'll ask it again....

What Union player has come to Rugby League and waltzed into a SOO or Australian team?

You want me to accept that those Union players would make it in League easily, yet I can recall no Union player that walked into a SOO or Australian side. If you can name one, name him.

But there are 3 ex-League Wingers in the current Wallaby squad. All of whom played S12 or for the Wallabies in their first season of Union.

Ok then, Clyde Rathbone is a better winger than anyone else in the NRL at the moment, if he was taken over to league, he'd walce into SOO and the kangaroos!
Anyway, you keep forgetting that I actually PREFER league! I like Union 2nd, but as you said yourself you don't know sh*t about union! In fact by the looks of your response to my post on union positions, I'd argue I probably know more about NFL than you do about union.

Clyde Rathbone would be a sensation in League and for Canberra.

He EASILY beat Wendell to the Wallaby spot, a guy who would still dominate the league wing spot if he was still here, The Australian Wallaby Team have the best set of wingers out of everyone in League or Union

Crap.

Matt Petersen will be a revelation in Union if Perth is added to S12 and he goes to play for them. And he'd be lucky to be in the top 20 wingers in the NRL. Christ, he'll probably knock Rathbone out of the Wallaby side in his first season.

Most League wingers would be a revelation in Union.

Wendell is a cat, Union has turned him into one and if he came back to League he wouldn't handle it. If Rathbone had taken out someone who actually has talent like Tuquiri, you may have had a point.

4 wingers went over and each of them played S12 in season 1.

Rathbone wouldn't play SOO within 3 years if he came to League, if at all.

Lote Tuquri is the Best winger in both sports...what are you saying Luke Rooney or Timana Tahu are even close, when Rogers and Tuquri went we had Tahu as our "best" winger "media's voice not mine" Rathbone would take a while but he is just a kid with enormous potential.

Make up your mind - they either are or they aren't.

Do you know English? I didn't contradict, they are still the no1 Wing pairing, better than Rooney and Sing anyway

You can't argue that... Lote (for obvious reasons), Rathbone, Rococoko and Howlette would all be better than the current best ranking league wingers.

Going back - Dick Thornett played rep football in his first year in league, and I suspect that John Thornett was the same.

So George Gregan's as good as Danny Buderus  All George does is pass the ball

Your an absolute moron.... no offence, but unless your taking the piss, then you reall ought to know that the numbering system is backwards in union to what it is in league. Here I'll explain it to you:

1 : Loosehead Prop
2 : Hooker
3 : Tighthead Prop
4 : Second Row
5 : Second Row
6 : Blindside Flanker
7 : Openside Flanker
8 : Number 8
9 : Half Back
10 : Fly Half (five eigth)
11 : Left Wing
12 : Inside Centre
13 : Outside Centre
14 : Right Wing
15 : Fullback

I know that, but halfback in Union is basically a hooker in League

the scrum-half position could be equated with the hooker in league is some respects, but it's very different getting the ball from the 'play the ball' and try to retreive it from a ruk in union. Alot of the time their is very little option but to pass because of the immense pressure opposing players put on you as your trying to get the ball out. Realistically, they have very little in common.

Id agree , A League hooker would make upwards of 30 tackles a game , A union half would be lucky to make 3 ...

AFL is unwatchable. I even tried going to games with a couple mates (when the swanslink train tix were around) but even beer did not help.

Union is a bore but vaguely watchable. I never understand the excitement you see in some sudney pubs about a boring international game of union :?
