Your last 2nd to last paragraph is the medias "selective news" kicking in, he's settled a large payment with the victims as of June 2018, and has a large loan to show for it. Also the proposed assault was pre NY, to be clear.

This article is a good indication of the other side to the story.. POS would know him well I'd suggest.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/leagu...ctims-of-his-drunken-assault-in-united-states

I think he's the type of player we actually need TBH, just the baggage is heavy.. Probably knock a bit off his asking price (glass half full POV).
Yeah, my bad, I should have said as of early last year - which is what I linked to ... I actually did a search and couldn't find the June payment article, so cheers.

Yeah, I think I specifically mentioned it was pre NY?

Sign him now. I want to win a comp not play moral coach here. It's obvious he has had issues but he seems to be okay now. What do you want? Blair to be in our prop rotation? FFS this guy is a tough no nonsense forward we need.

Not sure where I stand on this.
We all make mistakes, we've all been drunk
But never have I ever been so drunk, or made such a mistake to even contemplate doing what he did.

That said, I believe one incident doesn't define a person by his life.
He would be an upgrade on what we currently have, but potentially could be a PR disaster if he screws up again.

Honestly, I'm on the fence on this.

I can’t stand the bloke. He shouldn’t have been registered to play in the NRL.

That said, the test again affirmed to me that Leeson is a very good supporting prop. Not your main go to guy. Off the back of JWH and Jesse tiring them he could then use his footwork to keep getting post contact metres. Lodges stats are very strong. I just think it provides significant better balance.

To me we need a prop urgently like JWH, Jesse, SST, Fatfita, one of these types that will take metres all day. And from what I can see there is only this bloke on the market and there appears to be some interest.

From a personal perspective overall can’t stand the thought of it. But if we don’t recruit a top dog prop we are stuffed.

Bronco's insiders are saying he'll re sign next week (said this morning).
Good.

I've been conversing with a few fans on a more rugby orientated site who are obviously Warriors fans and pretty much across the board none of them want Lodge signed no matter what value he adds to the team on the playing field.

I agree. I don’t like the lad at all.

Question. If we don’t get him, who do we get? We tried for Hamlin Uele who would be good but failed. Who else?

Lodge seemingly tried to dodge any repercussions, not paying reparation etc, then was only forced to when the media backlash meant Todd Kneejerk had to do something about it. So yeah, not buying the redemption story.

No thanks, again. We've had some muppets here but none who did anything like what Lodge did. I'm not prepared to compromise a no f**kwit policy for metres. Lord knows we kept Shaun Metcalf on our books for too long.

Apparently he has to decide within the next 3 days or a clause in his contract in Brisbane’s favour kicks in and he will be staying there

It beggars belief really that this guy is making millions in the NRL after those actions, while Todd Carney effectively got a life ban for pretending to piss in his own mouth

... He wasn't pretending.. Carney had plenty of chances to sort his shit out.

He was, was being photoed as an illusion, stupid, not illegal, and not doing any harm to others, and all of his antics from I’m guessing 2008ish onwards weren’t things that caused harm to others

Nowhere near lodges ballpark who is a multiple offender

No way we've offered $1mil to Lodge surely.

How funny would it be that we free up all this cap space from SJ only to give it away to someone else

If reports of Blair's salary are true then that's a bargain for a Lodge (ignoring his off field exploits)

I almost want both just to shove it up CBolts klakker. Yeah we won’t lose a player we want to keep. Fairly arrogant
