Peter Peters said this morning that Brian Smith would be coaching the new Gold Coast team in 2006 and that Daniel Anderson could not wait to come back to Parra to take over from Smith.

Peter Peters is trying unsettle Parra he has obviously envious of everything that is Parra, I hope we bury the eagle scum when we play them.

I dont get PP, he says theres too many teams, and now he thinks theyll be team in the Gold Coast. And says Central Coast dont have enough juniors.

Peters is an idiot

pp doesn't get pp... only way pp ever gets mentioned/ratings is by talking about parra

When Daniel Anderson coached the premmies at Parra, we had a plethora of young talent busting to play first grade. He left to take on the coaching role of a hapless Warriors outfit and now it's them with all of the young talent.

Bring him back I say.

PS I heard this rumour from a close source mid 2002.

Peter Peters - credibility neglible. Almost as biased as anything Fitzy says in public?Peters' interest is Manly first, daylight second, hence his support of a Gold Coast side (anything but a Central Coast team in his "backyard").

While Daniel Anderson has gone well in NRL and has shown his stripes as a coach, Ali Stacey and Toopi were already Warriors and nothing to do with Anderson's development. So they probably (uinfortunately) wouldn't follow him around.

Why wouldn't the Gold Coast consortium be interested in Anderson as a coach outright? He has more "results" on the board in the last few years.

Daniel Anderson is obviously a good coach, BUT I think NZ always had a tonne of promising young guys - what they never had was a decent organisational structure in place to get the goods out of the young guys.

The biggest thing Anderson has given NZ rugby league is the guidance for a good structure.....AND where did he learn that from? Brian Smith!

Like him or not Brian Smith was responsible for taking professionalism to a new level in rugby league....ALL team's envied what Parra did a few seasons back - and all teams worked hard to be as professional as Parra (roosters, warriors, and now manly, etc etc)....unfortunately we haven't yet got that premiership (for a combination of reasons) - but I'm confident it is just around the corner.

Doesn't the Gold Coast first need a team before they find a coach?
I'm sure the people working on bringing an NRL team to the coast have discussed various options for coach - it is afterall the most important decision they will make if and when they get a team.
Until that day happens it's a bit premature to say who is going to be the coach let alone figure out who is going to be coaching the team (if any) he leaves behind.

Personally I'd love to see Smithy go to the Gold Coast to be their inaugural coach. Not because I don't want him at Parra, quite the opposite, but because he could do wonders for the Gold Coast as they tried to build a platform for a long term future. I think it would be a good move for League if someone as professional and experienced as Smithy was given the reigns of the new franchise.

Having said that, if Smithy moves on, I'd also like to see JT get the nod at Parra. Anderson has done wonders at the Warriors, and would obviously be a great replacement at Parra, but JT has worked hard to become a good coach over the last few years and deserves a shot at Parra's first grade squad, whom he is working with and learning from. I'd hate to see JT coach any other team..........unless, of course, that team was the Gold Coast! I think JT is going to be a very astute coach and would do wonders wherever he landed a job.

i thought chris anderson was going to the bulldogs

but if he wins his court case against the sharks i'd expect him to buy a nice house by the beach and retire

A club would be silly to take Chris Anderson on, after fall-outs with his previous two clubs, and a "gifted" Storm premiership (penalty try my butt) all he has to show for that time.

I predict he'll lose the court case, and then disappear off the face of the earth....
