To be fair it didn't look like Friend was staying until recently, so if he stays then there will have to be an odd man out.

That article came up on my Facebook feed today. Frankly I don't see a hell of a lot in it- looks to me like a journo called got hold of Kevin (who lets face it isn't too media savvy at the best of times) asked him a few leading questions and built a story around his answers. And even taking Nobby's tendency to spill the magic beans without thinking, nothing he said really indicated any great desire to gtfo if Tomkins is signed.

Whenever Wigan want to do it, wouldn't expect anything till at least after the Challenge Cup final. From all the 'sources' I've heard and read he has only agreed to a deal in principal anyway at this stage.

Im really over this Tomkins thing already. It has dragged on way to long. If we get him, we will...

-Lose Friend who wants to stay and is a great player
-Leuluai will move to hooker where (although he excelled there during the world cup) it isnt his preferred position and he is playing out of his skin at the moment at five eighth
-Locke will move to five eighth when he hasnt played there since schoolboy age and who knows how well he will perform.

I think getting Tomkins could cause more headaches than its worth.

Lol, you can see it a mile off- Spend $$$ of the cap on this guy (when we have a top notch FB anyway we should just focus on keeping), and he's either injured round one or just doesn't cut it in NRL

I'm wondering if he (Tomkins) is coming next year mainlbecause they suddenly turn around and offered Freind a one year extention.
Didn't he have another year to rn with Wigan? If so maybe he wants to honour that.
