The rumour is that Stuart has been sounded out as to his interest in taking on the role at the Raiders next year.

Note: Being sounded out is not presented with a deal as yet.

Unsure as to any response from Stuart.

I didn't think he was off contract next year. When does it run out?

Everyone seems to be linked to the Raiders job! I'd like Jason Taylor to take the job though.

That link was always going to be made. Raiders fans have always talked up the possible return of Sticky to the nation's capitol, and now with the spot very much available his name was bound to be mentioned.

I find it unlikely that he'd leave the Roosters just yet though.

Got a source?
I instantly felt that we were gonna get Ricky as soon as I read that we had approached Bennett. The media has tipped Chris Anderson... but the fact is if we really wanted him, why isn't he on board already? The Canberra board have kept their lips tight, waiting for a 'big name coach with the ability to attract players'.

Sticky..... welcome back!
Hopefully...

We would probably offer him a 5 year gig up front to get him back, which would be a big incentive if he is off contract. Still its a bit of a pipe dream at this stage I think.

Don Furner Jnr, the Raiders General Manager, is Ricky's best mate. It is a possiblility for sure.

Not when he is not going to win a premiership with the Raiders, whereas the Roosters he has a big chance!

sticky is the exact type of bloke that could get a premiership from our crop
alot of talent to be released and he can do it

we need a tried, true, proven winner, and more then that, a bloke with name sake that can attract talent to the ACT. IMO stuart is the perfect fit.

Sticky was the schoolboys captain of Union and toured with the Wallabys.
He certainly had a huge career in Union didn't he?
You just never know.....

So I gather you can fullfill his 1-2 million price tag per year! That is the bare minimum for Ricky Stuart!

and the keys to the city
frankly i think we should do what ever i takes to nab sticky
not only for his record, his ability as a coach and the potential talent he can attract as aussie coach, but also for the fact he is and always will be my favourite player of all time

He has a good record, thats why!

He coaches at a team with the best resources and that already had superb cattle. Their flegg teams are stocked with stars. I just don't see how he can be compared to the best at this stage in his career. He doesn't have a proven record of building a team from scratch, which is what Canberra basically require at the moment.

If it is the prodigal son thing, fair enough. I know a lot of Tigers fans wish Sheens could find a spot for Block on his support staff.

He has a track record of turning good PL players into good FG players, Soliola, Soward are examples, Carney and Ale are simular at canberra, or milne or zillman. He also has a strong track record in turning average FG into super stars, Minichello at fullback and Jason Cayless are examples, with Phil Graham and Troy Thompson

i could go on but i need some sleep
