I have no idea if this is true but the rumour is Warrington centre Rhys Evans will join the Sydney Roosters on loan.

I for one would love to see this be true, a season in their under 20's NYC team would be awesome for him.

I heard this rumour also. Nothing confirmed but we will see.

Looks like an outstanding talent. He is close to the first team so i would like him to stay at Warrington.

He is Welsh and has a brother called Ben who also looks promising.

I guess he'll play for Australia later in the year then. He's already decided he's not Welsh after a few games in England.

Don't know. residency? He has been in England since he was 12.

Hayne played for Fiji but now is suddenly Australian again. You don't think Evans could be English to help his devlopment then go and play for the Welsh national team?

He didn't play for the Welsh national team though did he? He missed the Four Nations qualifiers to play schoolboy football for England. And he hasn't been there since he was 12. He was signed to play for Warrington. Even they don't sign kids at 12. But they have essentially bought his Englishness. And that's truly the difference between any Hayne-like player you might want to name and this bloke. He signed a professional contract and that is the ONLY reason he is playing for England. Just like Faasavalu.

Thats because he was a schoolboy in England!

He moved up with his Mum and Brother when he was 12.

Anyways, if i hear anything else i'll post it.

ECT i'm not discussing anything else super league related with you.

Rhys played first grade last night so i doubt they will let him go, he did ok - no mistakes and made plenty of tackles.

until he plays for either the full england or wales team he's free to test his options imo......those options will be tested when he gets picked to play for wales in the 4nations at the end of the year..

Did Petero sign a professional contract with Brisbane when he was two years old? So that's why he moved to Australia.

petero qualifies for australia via residency under the RLIF rules...so it makes no difference under the rules whether someone qualifies by scraping in after 3 years (which the law is)...or 20+years cos they moved there as a 3month old...

1 does'nt trump the other so stop making up your own laws...you lot f**k about with the laws that much you have'nt got a clue what your on about half the time!

the law is simple..

where you born in australia - NO!

have you been resident in australia 3 years or longer - YES!

BINGO YOUR QUALIFIED PETERO !

bog all to do with age or professional contracts !

spud you are right by the law, but the fact is petero is australian and evans is not english! but as for following the rules of rugby league, both qualify in the same way via residency!

i still think evans will choose wales at years end. the only reason he would have chosen england is to play against the aussie schoolboys in the same way benji marshall played 'for' the aussie schoolboys! there are not many more prouder people than the welsh, im sure he would jump at the chance to play for his country!

There is such thing as English, it's just that (like quoting stupid RLIF laws) they are so pedantic they would rather believe some legal technicality than reality.
