stupid RLIF laws.........cos they don't fit your argument???

the CORE RLIF eligibility laws are sound and are inline with just about every other sporting body.....its just no one sticks to them and flaunts them willy nilly..

i'm english too mate...whenever anyone asked...im english not british...but legally we don't exists...we're all british...

the states of queensland and NSW are more of a country than england is.....wales,scotland and northern ireland have their own parliaments....england does'nt.....scottish mps can vote in westminster on solely english issues (like schools) but english mp's can't vote in scotland...

see... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Lothian_question

i'm pleased to say i'm a fully paid up member of the english democrats

I know the three of us tend to agree on a lot of stuff on here, but this is getting ridiculous! I also consder myself English (feels like Spartacus now) and would gladly get rid of the Celts given half the chance. When I get one of those forms asking for ethnic background I usually have to tick 'White Other' and then write English alongside because I won't tick 'White British'. Unfortunately I still have to tick 'UK' under nationality.

btw Catalonia is more of a country than England (or any of the home nations), but the RLEF have decided not to recognise them after receiving advice from the EU.

Back on topic, Rhys Evans is Welsh and I'm confident he'll turn out for them in the autumn. The only reason for him to play for England would be opportunity of fixtures but the taffs have the 4Nations this year, RLWC in 2013, and no doubt something in between so he'll have no shortage of opportunity to test himself against the best.

Well it seems that rumour was less than 100% accurate. He made his first start for Wire against Leeds and put in a MOM performance.

I think he will turn out with Wales. Him and Rhys Williams (on loan at the crusaders) will make a very good left side attack for Wire and Wales.

Doesn't look like it, aparently he was interviewed after the MOM and said he'd switched allegance to England, it's a real shame. Hopefully he comes around by 4N time. The first thing that needs to be done to stop switches like this would be to start an annual tri-series with Wales, France and England.

At the moment he has switched, but thats probably because it would be pointless to play for Wales. He is still a bit young for international rugby and he won't learn anything in a Welsh camp.

Sorry guys but at this moment in time Evans HAS NOT switched. He has never played a full international for anyone so how can he switch? He has opted to offer his services to England. That's not to say he'll ever play for England. If he does and then decides he's Welsh then that will be poor for the game. Not that I believe he should be declaring for England. What self respecting Taff born in Bridgend and called Rhys Evans wants to represent England at anything?

Well alright he hasn't played for England yet, but he seems to be leaning that way.

I think he should play for Wales, but he has lived in Warrington since he was 12, gone through high school here etc. so i could understand if he feels english.

And he hasn't been there since he was 12. He was signed to play for Warrington. Even they don't sign kids at 12. But they have essentially bought his Englishness.
You might as well just stop yourself right there and take yourself away from the convo. You've already made a fool of yourself on TRL, and aren't doing much better here.
He has been in England since he was 12. He went to high school here. Now, because this doesn't go with your little "pom-bashing", you've decided to say that this is all make-believe (somehow, you know better from Australia than we all know over here?).
If he wasn't signed by Warrington when he was 12 (like you have also said), then how can he have been "bought" by England to play RL when he was already living in England?

He came over with his family at the age of 12. Just like Petero did when he was a baby. He was not brought to the country to play RL. Everything you are saying is absolute nonsense and factually incorrect! It's nothing like Faasavalu.

The thing that gets me about all of this is that Richard Lewis has been doing everything he legitimately can to bolster the game in Wales via the Crusaders, Scorpions, community clubs, etc. And we know he definitely sees the advancement of the international game as the key to RL's future.

How on earth does McNamara pinching Evans (and Brough, Ferguson, etc) sit alongside that?

I'd email him and ask, only I don't think he's accepting my emails anymore!;-)

McNamara is an absolute clown. You can't blame Lewis for McNamara's incompetence and idiocy. He can't even construct a proper sentence at times when being interviewed. Worst coach ever.

Nowhere near David Waite's standards yet. "Let's play 4 loose forwards, put a stand-off on the wing, play two scrum halves (leave one on the bench so he doesn't feel left out) and then not bring him on". Now that guy is the worst coach ever!

didnt andy farrells dad or someone like that spot him while he was playing at wembley before the challenge cup in the schools championship final when he was 12, and he was then recommended to warrington who helped him, his brother and family up to warrington on a scholarship?

Basically if you want the short version, we saw him and his bro playing, but i think it was union not league. Moran offered to 'help' them relocate to Warrington. He was then brought through the youth set-up which Farrells dad helps to run and the rest is history.

For help it all depends on what rumours you listen to... I heard many, and i could not tell you what is true so i won't guess.
