Doesn't make it any less frustrating Del, we heard the same thing when DA took over from Hagan and the same thing when SK took over from DA. And we hearing it again, 5 years and still the same old story. This club is full of excuses on and off the field. Why do other clubs never seem to have these problems????

Well, a partial reason is that we don't follow those clubs, and thus we don't spend our time thinking about their problems/weaknesses....and when we do notice them we forget them soon enough. Don't get me wrong......we need to do a lot lot better...and I'm not convinced that we'll improve enough under our current organisational structure.

Hiney, the blame for the players currently signed that are surplus goes back to a few still from DA, to the majority signed by SK

Thank goodness we got the coaches to move on, we would be significantly worse if RS had not decided to make a stand and clear them out. Its better to pay some of their contract and at least keep some of our more talented juniors and even a few newcomers

I'm interested to know who from DA (left in 2010) we are still paying in 2014 considering no-one he signed or re-signed are on a contract from him in 2014?

We hear this a lot but never get names?

yeah you are probably right, Penrith were in that situation when Cleary and Gus got there but they are on the right track, Sadly i am not as confident with Ricky and well we don't even have anything like what Gus does at Penrith which is laughable for a professional club.

I agree with you hiney. Whether these decisions were made by previous management doesn't really matter, they are affecting us still which means we're still attempting to turn around errors of the past. I wouldn't say we are a well run club yet, we've still had a handful of players sign or come close to signing only to do a backflip, and our recruitment and retention for next year still leaves quite a bit to be desired. We also still have key positions in our club still yet to be employed.

Obviously those in charge are trying to improve things, but there's still a long way to go until their efforts are rewarded and our current cap management reeks quite frankly. Our rebuild seems to be a lot slower than other clubs doing the same in recent years.

All of the DA signed players should have fallen off at the end of last year with the possible exception of Morts if he did in fact have a one year option for this year.

That was kind of my point and why I asked for names, it's been bandied about since he left and STILL being talked about!

Yep, possibly paying for him this year depending on the deal with the Roosters but not next year.

And Horo won't be on our payroll next year either.

So, just wondering who DA signed for 2014 back in 2010 that we will be paying next year?

Didn't Hayne re-sign this year?

Horo was not signed any longer than 3 years so there is no way he could be being paid by us next year if he was signed by DA.

Yeah I mean for this year.

Of next year's squad everyone was either signed/re-signed by Sticky or Kearney.

These are the Kearney buys on contract for 2014 that weren't re-signed by Sticky:

Blair
Harrison
Hopoate
Kelly
Lussick
Maitua
Mannah
Pauli
Paulo (Joseph)
Pritchard
Ryan
Sandow
Sio
Smith
Tanginoa

It was stated (not by you) that we are in salary cap trouble for next year because of DA, regardless of what else is his fault, I just don't understand that comment and want to know who the players are?

Why would we be in salary cap trouble due to a coach that hasn't signed any merkin since early 2010?
