Garcia is a strange signing imo.

He goes ok, certainly wouldn't go close to our current 17.

Reminds me of Yeo.

Probably a depth signing more than anything else. We'll be losing a bit of backrow talent this off-season so probably a bit of depth to cover.

Given he plays Lock, 2nd row, Hooker I'd say he's signed as a like for like replacement for Brown

Penrith Panthers are pleased to announce the signing of French back-rower Ben Garcia until the end of the 2017 season.

Garcia will join the Panthers next season from English Super League club Catalans Dragons, where he has plied his trade for the last two years.

The 22-year-old previously played for the Brisbane Broncos' NYC side and returns to Australia as a French international, having made his international debut at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.

Panthers Executive General Manager rugby league Phil Gould AM said he was delighted to have secured the services of such an exciting talent.

"Benjamin's form has been outstanding for the Catalans Dragons and he attracted tremendous attention from a number of Super League clubs looking for his signature," Mr Gould said.

"He has a burning desire to make it in the NRL and we are extremely happy he has chosen Panthers as the place to pursue that opportunity. This kid can play."

Garcia is one of four new signings the Panthers announced on Wednesday, with boom youngsters Sione Katoa, Viliame (Bill) Kikau and Zach Dockar-Clay to join the Frenchman at Penrith for the next two seasons.

Geoff Daniela was named in NSW Cup this week. Last I remember of him he was playing reserve grade at the Dragons. So I think we must have brought him in just before the midseason deadline.

I read somewhere he qualifies since signing with windsor

Unfortunately another of those that killed it Juniors but didn't quite reach the lofty heights we probably all had for him. Hopefully he can help out the young centres coming through. Welcome back.

The Sam Moa rumour has popped up again in the main forum. IF we can snag him and Merrin to go with RCG, Latimore and these kids we have coming through our prop rotation and go forward will be much better next season. Big if tho..

In today's Big League Sika Manu is been couted by Souths with Dragons & Sharks also interested. It also claims he met with Gould recently and decided to test himself on the open market.
I think most of us won't be bothered if he left.
