The Sam Moa rumour has popped up again in the main forum. IF we can snag him and Merrin to go with RCG, Latimore and these kids we have coming through our prop rotation and go forward will be much better next season. Big if tho..

8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard
9. James Segeyaro
10. Sam Moa
11. Tyrone Peachey
12. Elijah Taylor
13. Trent Merrin

14. Jeremy Latimore
15. Sam McKendry
16. Bryce Cartwright
17. Lewis Brown (If we keep him)/Jamal Idris/Chris Smith/James Fisher-Harris/Ben Garcia/Api Korisau/Other signing/BMM/Sam Anderson

If we get Moa.....aside from that one bench spot...that pack and bench look fantastic.

Put me in the minority then.

Sika has been one of the few forwards really putting in and bending the line in the last month. Would rather lose Brown than him right now.

Have to disagree. Brown has been close to our best this year. Consistently impacts the game.

Haven't heard anymore about the talented fringe first grader coming. Maybe its all bullshit like Moa coming here.

Merrin as a lock? We need front rowers and Taylor is far better there then backrow.

Regardless it's total BS. We can't afford Moa

Moa would improve our pack but leave us with little chance at signing a half to partner Soward and partner Moylan once he retires.

Soward being the only remotely decent half at the club is our biggest issue. We go from being a decent chance in any given game to needing a miracle pretty quickly.

Sandow would be an improvement on Wallace. Atleast he has games where he dominates. Wallace is pretty much a passenger who only looks competent with Soward holding his hand.

Gus sees him as a lock. Hell play as a prop like Gallen anyway. I'm not sure about Moa. I think an old head who we can sign for a couple years and then let go when all these young guys are ready. Someone like Hannant who has been going well. If we are not going to have a talented half at the club ear marked as ready to take over from Soward after 2017 we need to be very careful with our cap to ensure we have the money to replace him with quality.

Well if it's true I've got 4 props there and Merrin as the lock.

It's just a number. Merrin can roam and Taylor can still play the same.

I think people are ruling out Garcia very quickly. From what I've seen (I admit I haven't seen much) and from what others have told me about him (who regularly watch SL both live and on TV), he's going to be a quality addition and will force his way into the 17. Only very young as well.

I think its also safe to say Api is gone with the re-signing of Katoa & ZDC.

Someone like Jeremy Latimore or Brent Kite perhaps.

Penrith could be bolstered by the addition of another international forward with the Panthers in negotiations with Roosters prop Sam Moa for next season.

Fairfax Media has been told the Panthers have held several discussions with the New Zealand front-rower about joining the club next season alongside St George Illawarra lock Trent Merrin, who signed a three-year deal in March.

Moa still has another season to run with the Roosters, however it is understood the tri-colours have agreed to release the 28-year-old if he manages to strike a deal with another club.
While Penrith have expressed interest in Moa, his arrival at the foot of the mountains would be heavily dependent on the future of off-contract forwards Lewis Brown, Sika Manu and Adam Docker.

The Panthers will have some extra money in the salary cap with props Brent Kite and Nigel Plum to retire at the end of the year, however most of that money has been spent retaining the likes of youngsters Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Waqa Blake, Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Tyrone Peachey.
The Roosters have already lost Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to the Warriors, while winger Daniel Tupou and five-eighth James Maloney are yet to be re-signed.

A couple of hard decisions in who to let go as it always is.

Let Manu and Docker go. Sign Moa and re-sign Brown. Hopefully it's not too much more than what Manu and Docker were on.... might even be cheaper since Manu was one of our first big names and got overs at the time.

Then do our best to get any remotely decent half. Hasting, Cornish, have a crack at Maloney (our of our price range though most likely) and if all those fail, throw some cash at Sandow on a 2 year contract (max) to bide our time until we can find the half we need.

No one fears the Panthers attack with Peter Wallace at halfback and anybody other than Soward at 5/8th.

Maloney is better than what we have but he's an overpriced hack, I'd rather sign his cousin who plays prop for the mighty Umina Bunnies

Been told penrith have made a big money offer to Sandow

You are so full of it. Might be a hint of truth in Panthers having a crack for Moa but Sandow is certainly not in Panthers thoughts.

Sika Manu will sign elsewhere, Lewis Brown 50/50 at this stage, Adam Docker anyone's guess.
