Jamal Idris will take an indefinite break from rugby league after successfully requesting a release from the Penrith Panthers.
Idris, who had one year left to run on his NRL contract at the club, played just 28 games in his two years at the club as he battled injuries.
"I love the game of rugby league but just at the moment I need to take some time away," he said.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Panthers but I did not want to continue playing if I couldn't guarantee giving them 100 per cent."
Idris was previously given time away from the game in 2014 by the Panthers as he battled personal issues.
Idris was recently rumoured to be in discussions with the Melbourne Storm.
Didn't they claim last month that he signed with the Raiders ?
Is it just me or do the Sharks seem to have 50 FG players on their books ?

Well if they won't pull the trigger for SB, would they do it for Hayne ? Or anyone ?

No club should get a leg up to fit a marquee player in under the cap. Hayne and us included.
