Well Guys, we had Hands and Smith, we didn't need to look for another Hooker, we just chose the wrong ones to keep.

Smith is going ok but neither one really gives me an regrets. I actaully think Sommo is going well, slow service, bad timing, these things are just a learning curve. I think young hookers fail as much as young halves, if not more. It seems to be a hard position to establish yourself in.

Sommo has noticeably improved his defence, and i think he has a bit more to offer with his running game then we have seen so far. I am actually really torn between having him or cole on the bench, cause i think once Sommo gets comfortable he could be a decent hooker.

His service is really good. He only jumped out and danced 2 or 3 times vs eels but other than that his service was better than Kenny.

I'd just take a stab at Egan if we were looking to spend bigger coin.

The Warriors are an easy target. Lots of Aussies end up wanting to move back home. They owe us for gifting them Fisher-Harris. Egan is only 28 years old.

I think recruiting hookers is very tricky unless you are willing to pay top dollar for an established one, would love Egan but he would get a lot on the market right now. We can buy a De Silva or someone similar but i think its so hit and miss, its really difficult.

There was some media around the young guy Jenson Tuoa or whatever his name is being rated by the club but im not really sure.

I think given we are not desperate yet for a ready to go hooker, we need to make we have 2 or 3 good ones aged 16-19, so we should be looking to recruit guys at that age and then hoping one of them pans out.

Sliding doors moment years ago when Jeremy Marshall King was off-contract. Wouldn't have been on big coin.

Bennett turned him into a very dangerous dummy-half at the Dolphins.

We had the best hooker in the game on the books then, the man most responsible for our 2022 premiership, the great man who turned the semi against Souffs.
APISAI KOROISAU!!!

Just one of those moments in time. Dolphins got an absolute bargain. He and Katoa have been building nicely and they also have the Hammer.

Api was great while we had him. Another amazing deal considering Manly paid to send him here. Almost went to the Dogs.

At the moment you would have Sommo because Kenny has that shoulder issue, I don't think he can last the whole season.

2021! Yeah he was the most responsible and that’s why independent judges awarded him the Clive Churchill medal. Oh, wait a minute Cleary and Critta want a word.

After the 2022 GF, JFH was interviewed about the utter destruction of the Eels pack. In reverential tones he described the two players he thought were most responsible, Kenny and Leota. Api didn’t get a mention. Mind you I thought Api looked good coming on after all the hard work was done, I’ll give you that.

It’s amazing the lack of respect shown for people who bleed for our team doing the tough stuff that helps lead us to glory, meanwhile, fancy pants leaves us to chase the big dollars. In spite of his genius and Kenny being a reserve grader, he has two wooden spoons and a pile of money to add to his collection and Kenny has two premierships.

You are one of the most pedantic sooky merkins I've ever come across online. It really makes sense that you post on The Roar

Kenny is absolutely a club legend.

He was a complete revelation in 2019. Play with 110% effort despite his limitations. He doesn't have the nous that other hookers do but he has been a great fit for us for many years now. Highly durable and tough as nails.

And we've had him at a price tag that allowed us to keep Edwards, Luai and Cleary locked down. You can't undervalue that and there isn't a world in which we can keep Korisau on the books and not lose one of the other three. In hindsight it was a great decision which paid off massively. Two more premierships since Korisau left and still more available to us if we want them.

He is still quite young too at 27. Gets through plenty of work. He isn't one we should be looking to release at all. He can move into a Cameron McInnes style. Its not all that different from what he is doing at the moment anyway. Might just spend less minutes in the 9 in future.
