Well Mav is only here due to nepotism and he's worse than the Carty PartyWhat role would Bryce Cartwright play at the Panthers?
I don't think we need a point of difference in the backrow. He isn't going to do with Martin and Papali'i do for us. He hasn't shown he can cover centre and playing in the middle is out of the question.
Can't see the vision.

I don't see it that way with Geyer. His Dad isn't that involved with the club.
Being friends with your team mates is helpful of course.
The Cartwrights are Penrith royalty and Brandy is also his uncle on the board. Mav is 100% there due to nepotism.
Mavs apparently looking round for more game time at another club. If he can get that good on him.I think Mavs place in the squad is about what his ability deserves. He's not getting extended runs at NRL level. He's a cup quality player, playing cup and a game or two of NRL each year. He's probably not even going to be re-signed. I don't see a problem with that and nepotism is way too strong a word. Ironically, I think people are hyper sensitive to his place at the club due to his Dads connection here.
Absolute gentleman and great coach. I hope he does well out west![]()

Ben Gardiner.
Penrith Panthers Assistant Coach Ben Gardiner will depart the club to join the Perth Bears.
Gardiner will become assistant coach to Mal Meninga when the Bears enter the competition in 2027.
Gardiner, who has signed a five-year contract with the Bears, has held coaching roles at a range of NRL clubs.
“I can’t wait to work closely with new people in Western Australia and build a hugely successful team over the next five years as we promote rugby league and grow the game,” he said.
“I have had a close relationship with the North Sydney Bears for a number of years where I was able to coach the NSW Cup team and work in coaching and recruitment, as well as with the women’s team.
“These experiences allowed me to understand what makes that great club tick.
“These foundations need to be synergised into the Perth Bears to grow a collaboration of new and old.”
Meninga said Gardiner was one of the best and brightest young coaches in the game.
“He has worked with some great clubs and teams, at Premiership and representative level, and he also has Bears DNA to add to his prolific experience,” he said.
“I look forward to Ben helping us to build a club and culture which will set the Bears’ future on the right path.”
Perth Bears CEO Anthony De Ceglie said Gardiner would bring extensive experience and understanding of successful premiership winning systems.
“We’re extremely excited to have Ben join the team,” De Ceglie said.
“He’s a winner who’s renowned for his football knowledge and hard work ethic.
“This is another important milestone as we ensure the Perth Bears lay the right foundations for future success.”
Gardiner will start his job with the Perth Bears following the conclusion of the 2025 NRL premiership season.
He will remain the Samoa international head coach.

24! f**k he's even worse than I thoughtMG II may depart Panthers
Mavrik Geyer coming through the ranks at Penrith and then playing first grade with the club was a beautiful story given the connection with his father Mark.
But I keep hearing Geyer is looking for other options next year as he looks to get more regular time in first grade.
The 24-year-old is off-contract at the end of the season and the Panthers have been in no rush to re-sign him.
