Rumoured & Confirmed Signings (2025 Season)

There is a reason clubs don't enforce contracts with a few years left on them, when players want to leave. You maybe able to enforce them legally, but who wants an unhappy player at the club? They will just ruin the morale of everybody. "Suck it up princess, you signed a deal and we are not going to let you make more money elsewhere". It sounds great in theory, but it just doesn't work in practice.

I hear fans saying all the time "they signed a deal, tough". Meanwhile, the fan can resign and leave for a job elsewhere with a months notice. They are people, not robots and you can't own a person and make them work for you.

Martin is the one I'd be excited to see go. One of the worst value for money players in the comp.
We can't sit around a wait for finals Marto when the bloke doesn't really help us get there

This is a wild take. But a correct one.

If we faced Martin in a finals match our season would just be over.
Just sucks he can't win us a few games during the season. Some try to tell me that he's always good but it's clear as day he doesn't play at that level.

And no I don't expect it weekly but it should happen once or twice a month.

I kindve agree re Marto but even if Marto went now and Garns comes in our starting pack gets older, we still need to be looking to the future a but. Clarke and armstrong look promising but they are a long way off being given an nrl chance based on where they are playing most of their footy this year.

Letting Garner go can only mean we've signed a first grade ready forward or utility.

Or we actually are heading back to the bad old days.

what realistic player could we nab that would soften the blow of losing Garner early?

Fifita seems the obvious candidate - but id rather keep Garner tbh

I liked Hassett's single half a game in first grade but surely the club would like a bigger sample size before making such a call.

Starting to get a sinking feeling that 2020-2024 was more of a fluke than some deep fundamental change in how the club is ran.
He’s shown enough in cup to say he can cover the backrow / centres bench spot.

That’s not a huge risk. He’s got plenty of upside as well.

There is absolutely no way you can fluke 5 GFs in a row. Calm your farm

I have a feeling Fifita might just be coming our way..

He didnt really do us dirty, given he hand shook with Roosters, so i dont buy too much into the sour taste we might have. If anyone can get him right, id say Ivan would be one of the best in line to do so.

Hate to see Garns go though, always been a massive fan of him.
