I dont have an issues with all 3 of those back rowers leaving,Garner sorenson and geyer.Garner has been hot and cold during his stint,sorenson is getting too old so super league is where he will end up.And geyer has been here for a while and only played a hand full of 1st grade games to which he hasn't looked comfortable.Besides backrow is a position that we have plenty of cover coming through.Armstrong,clarke,price,hassett and hindmarsh as well.

Garner turns 30 in about 10 weeks mate he isnt playing at this level for four more seasons, that is extemely unlikely. Scotty is 32 now btw, where Garner will be in two years.

It wasn't that long ago when the Forum Drama Queens were be moaning our ageing roster.
Now 1 or 2 of that roster have an opportunity to get better financial deals elsewhere , its tissues all round?

Any auditor who walked into our club blind and opened the books would look at what Garner is on and what he delivers and he'd be one of the first players kept.

Correct, so if they were all to go, Noone of top figure will come in, mostly be replaced from within. Only Hassett comes to mind and luron.

I cant see soro, garner and geyer being on 1 mil..

Soro maybe 325k a year.

Garner probs 250 to 275.

Mav on 135k which is the current minimum.

Even if all 3 go you probably have 735k. Two minimums for next year leaves you with about 450k...

With the state of pur nsw cup team being basically all duds the club needs to go after 4 or 5 young guns that we can get reasonably cheap and hope 2 or 3 of them turn into stars.

I think you can manipulate it a bit by not signing your last 2 of your top 30 till mid year but it's not saving that much

Pretty sure I remember reading Garner signing for something like 375k last time. Sorensen you would think would be on a little more than him and Geyer probably on more than minimum wage too.

Garners a legitimately good quality back rower and more than capable starting centre. IMO our side is stronger with Martin in the middle/bench and Garner starting on an edge. I’d happily give him another 2 - 3 years with a bump in wage. Unless he’s being offered ridiculous money and he’s pushing for a release, absolute insanity letting him go.

Gardner originally signed a 2 year deal for 2023 and 2024, which would of been the low contract amount.

But he signed a 2 year extension last year for 25 and 2026, after 18 months of playing well and winning a premiership, so he would be on a higher contract amount now.

You are off your head if you think Penrith stuffed up with Garner at 375k. He has been playing as our best Backrower for 2 years for half our marquee price.
