So with the news of the departing players confirmed this week, is this kind of where our Cup side is at right now?

1. Edgar 2. McLean 3. Fonua 4. Fale 5. Jenkins 6. Skipps 7. Cogger 8. Eisenhuth 9. Scott 10. Ale 11. TBC 12. TBC 13. Philips 14. Toelau 15. Crosby 16. TBC 17. TBC

Im guessing Cole/Cogger is the NRL 14 and Patea comes into the 17 for Sorro if he leaves. Unless Fonua/Jenkins are also cut loose it looks like mostly forward spots to fill. Who do we think steps up from Flegg?

I think Cogger is the 14 in NRL. Ivan seems to like Garner as the back cover.

Sorro would be a Perth signing I would expect so no reason he will leave early in that case.

I know we have Skipps for 3 years but we also signed Loza from the Knights and he has played NSW Cup. So I think Loza starts over him. Whether that is the case come end of the year who knows

From Flegg

Most have played NSW Cup this year. Clark and Armstrong should be top of the list but if neither play a part in the finals and Flegg win the comp like they should then it changes but I will have a crack at this early stage.

Edgar
McLean
Fale
Fonua
Jenkins
Cole
Toelau
Patea
Scott
Eisenhuth
Clarke
Ale
Phillips

Loza
Crosby
Palmer
Wigmore

Not sure if Wake is resigned but he is the only NSW Cup guy worth keeping. I'd bring Flegg guys up to fill out the squad

Your thoughts on Fonua? I know he's a good story, but I've never seen anything about him that makes me think he's up to NRL. I'd play T Patea instead.

If the NSW Cup team can bring Clark/Armstrong/Edgar/Attard through and ready to hit the NRL running in the next 12-24 months that would be success for me. Whereas our NRL middles and outside backs should be somewhat settled for a bit.

DRAGONS PINCH PANTHER CUB,

Meanwhile, it can be revealed that the Dragons are in the middle of a 10-day cooling-off period to sign promising Penrith centre or winger, David Fale.

Fale has spent the past three seasons playing NSW Cup for Penrith where he has scored 22-tries in 43-games.

Belief that the powerful outside back can progress to the NRL was indicated by his first grade debut for the Panthers against the Bulldogs in round 26 this season.

Fale will push the likes of Matt Feagai, Christian Tuipolotu and Tyrell Sloan for a position on the Dragons wing in 2026.

That’s a pity re Fale. He looked the mostly likely of the outside backs in our NSW Cup team to make it in the NRL
