I’m in Bali for a few days, wore a panther polo on way over and Liam Martin’s agent was sitting in front of me . We had chat he indicated he has represented many panthers players over many years going back to Luke Rooney. Told me about a special Harold Matts kid he now represents from the Central West. Can’t remember his name right now but when I see it closer to new season it will come back to me when I see team list.

Anyone know why alot of these signings are only 1 year?
The Bears won't sign 30 plus development players, so in reality about 36, before November next year.

The value a player can put on his own worth after being in the Penrith system puts them in front of the second tier players from all other clubs.

If one of these one year contract guys has a breakout season, even in reserve grade, he is in the picture for a decent upgrade.

I reckon about half way through season 2026 when we see some young blokes shine, the Bears will probably open the cheque book again.

Luron Patea hasn’t yet shown enough to suggest he is better than Henry. Still a lot to prove.

He has shown he is a better player than Henry was at the same age. He has shown he is a better ball runner than Henry by a considerable margin. Luron has plenty left to prove but he is clearly better at half the game(attack) already.

He’s certainly not as consistent as Henry.

I think Liam Henry is a bit of a loss for us, I think one we will regret eventually.

I like Henry. I'm not sure he's going to be the biggest loss we've seen these past few years though. Solid worker in the best system we've ever seen for that kind of player. Very much lacking in impact, which isn't the be all end all, but half the game is played with the ball as well.

Will provide more value to the Bears than us imo. Good business for all parties on this one.

Yes he can tackle. He has a good motor too. Wahs seemed to be using him more of a middle forward this year in cup.
He is a solid player that doesn't stuff up. He has a high standard of fitness. Would easily fit into your setup.
Your only saying that because hes a chooks junior
