nsw cup would be a higher standard.

This is where I reckon the NRL needs to put something in place - keep some older players in the nsw cup. Fui is obviously pretty much past being a regular NRL player but he wants to play on and is definitely still up to nsw cup standard. He would still be a very good player to have around the club at the eels providing guidance to younger players but we don't want to waste cap space on him. We should be able to offer him a fair contract to stay around the joint and play nsw cup.

I wouldn't want him in the NSW cup either tbh. No point in wasting a starting 17 spot for someone who will never be able to provide a positive outcome for the first grade team, would much rather that spot go to a Joseph Ualesi, Daniel Alvaro, or Tui Kamicamica. At least those 3 have a slim chance of playing a few first grade games in the next couple of years.

I agree a backup fullback who can only play fullback is a bit of a wasted roster slot. It's why guys like Mullaney and Gardner were moved on and now Lachlan Coote might be doing the same. Robinson is much better.

Hunt was trialled in the halves and at hooker at Wenty but he was never going to be good enough to even play first grade as a backup in those positions. So he's not a utility at all. He's a specialist fullback.

Agree the UK might be his go. You wouldn't want to rely on him for 20 games in the NRL.

The more you think of it-Hunt was a desperation signing. Small wingers went out years ago.And at the time we had Hayne at fullback. And Sio was also contracted.Ricky did blood semi so he obviously knew he was coming thru.A little mind boggling why he was signed in the first place.
