Rumoured / Confirmed Signings

I wouldn’t expect him to give anything away so maybe it’s just a hunch that he isn’t staying. Either way I’m not fussed tbh.

Flanno misses out on another signing. Haha tosser.
The Flange is working on an outdated formula.

He started doing it 12 years ago with Moons picking up unwanted players.
The first time around he picked up some good un's.

Bryce Gibbs (which included A. Fifita), Chris Heighnington*, Beau Ryan, Luke Lewis*, Matt Prior*, Michael Ennis, Ben Barba, James Maloney*
*Premiership winners previously

Second time round wasn't so great when he had to do it by himself

Aaron Woods, Shaun Johnson, Matt Moylan, Josh Dugan.
Believe it or not the best value signing out of those 4 was Woods, reason? He cost bugger all for the first couple of years as the Dogs were paying a hefty amount of his salary. Note there were no Premiership winners in this group.

Other clubs, and players/managers, know the racket these days and play a different game in regards to cash flow.
Their three major signings, Holmes, Cook and Gutho are not bad signings, could be really good. Their issue now is they haven't be able to pick up a decent forward (excluding hooker).
The Flange by himself is just not that an attractive proposition to players, he had Gallen at the Sharks to do the proposing, so they probably will have to succumb at some point and pay a forward, or two, overs and get out of his old "get rich schemes".

I reckon Cook and Gutho are dud signings

He may get 12 decent months out of them, but that’s it.

Both showed glaringly obvious signs Father Time had caught up with them last season, IMHO.

Largely agree, but dud may be harsh.

Could also be putting it mildly.

First few games they'll look great in typical St George fashion then fall by the wayside as usual. Gutho is a decent pro and gives his all but whether his body holds up is another story, Holmes is still pretty good in all honesty. Cook, meh.

Hope it all goes spectacularly wrong for them.

Gutho is all heart and can’t stand when we play him - as he normally turns it on, whinges etc - but sign of a decent player.
Problem being is that he’s getting on and foolhearty.
His effort at their first training session on the Tele the other night, running up Mount Keira and beating everyone - great stuff, but seriously is it necessary.
He’s a proven player and it’s the type of thing that could back fire.
I’m not that negative on the dragons as I was. But all Flannos moves post 2016 have been poor…. The teeth included
