What not overpaying for someone at a position they rarely pays means his recruitment power is weak? Probably a lot more to do with lets see how the dogs go first. Better than Parra where everybody seems to be jumping from the sinking ship. Put a fork in parra. They are done.

I agree. I don't see leadership amongst his qualities. Good player, sure, but better as part of a good team rather than leading it so not a $1m player to me atm.

Alot of players have a clause in their agreement which increases their wages commensurate with the salary cap increase. So it may not be that simple.

Also the minimum wage for players is to go up too, so that will swallow up some of that cap increase.
