I'd have him at the Tigers in a flash.
I was saying this in the Eels forum last week... Tigers would be mad not to make Hayne an offer... There's always the worry about his attitude and what not... Cleary won't put up with much BS... But if they got him, a 1, 6 and 7 of Hayne, Reynolds and Brooks puts them in a far better place than they looked like being a week or so ago.... Hell, with all the cash the Tigers have in the cap, they should be making Peats an offer too...

Matty Johns suggest that James Graham could be the next Paul Harragon if he went to Newcastle. The problem is there has to be something in it for Graham, and just a big money offer may not be enough. At this stage of his career he would looking for a premiership and that isn't probably likely going to happen in the time frame that Graham has left at the Knights. No question though he would help the Knights immensely if they signed him.

Harrigan put in a decade into that club, played his entire career there
Graham would be going there aged 32, at best they might get 3 years out of him, and maybe 2 of them at an elite level

What a thing to say! haha

Rumors Jarryd Hayne is making a 11th hour push for Sydney.

"Jarryd Hayne is down in Sydney this week for additional training as he looks to return to the fullback position. He is rumoured to be meeting with a number of NRL clubs in this time to decide whether or not he will stay with the Gold Coast Titans or move on in 2018"

Tigers are interested in Alex Johnson and William Hopoate, but taking in Hopoate is only on the condition he drops his playing football on Sunday's ban. Tigers are looking to fill the fullback position. Johnson may be the better option he wants to play fullback, and Souths have been reluctant to commit to playing him full time when Greg Inglis comes back from his injury next year.

"Canterbury fullback Will Hopoate and South Sydney custodian Alex Johnston have emerged as the latest targets for the Wests Tigers, but their more immediate concern is identifying the person responsible for throwing a projectile on the field following their loss to Cronulla on Saturday night.

Hopoate produced a herculean performance on his return from injury against Canberra on Saturday night, running for more than 300m and recording a try assist as the Bulldogs beat the Raiders.

The former NSW back, making his comeback after missing more than a month with a fractured eye socket, is among a handful of Bulldogs players who remain off contract beyond this season.

The expectation has been that he would become one of the players sacrificed in the Bulldogs’ pursuit of Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran, the former having confirmed yesterday that he would leave the Tigers to join Canterbury for next season.

Hopoate could be heading the other way, although the Tigers’ interest will hinge to a large extent on whether the Canterbury custodian is willing to relax his ban on playing on Sundays.

Hopoate, a devout Mormon, signed a cut-price deal with the Bulldogs on the condition that he was able to sit out Sunday games. He is yet to reveal whether he will relax that self-imposed ban as part of future contract negotiations, the outcome likely to have a significant impact on his options.

His performance against the Raiders provided a reminder of how dangerous he can be when he does take the field. Should he stay at Canterbury, his teammates will include Woods from next season."

Hopoate can't have this Sunday crap in his next contract.
Surely no club will entertain it??
Its interesting that Dollar Des won't let players go into City/Country in case they have to miss a week because of short turnaround, but he's happy for Hopoate to miss 3 or 4 games a year because God will get angry if he doesn't.

F*cking hypocrite.

Yep

I would be very angry if my team signed Will Hopoate

Considering we play on avg about 8-10 games on a Sunday a year, that's a huge distraction

Apparently Hopoate has said he wants to stay at the Bulldogs, but they have told him they would prefer him to move on.

Yeah either Hopoate plays on Sundays or he should retire from the NRL. Bulldogs should have never entered this agreement. Frankly speaking I respect his decision more if he retired and found another line of work where he does not have to give up his Sunday if he is so sincere to his beliefs.

Israel Folau isn't giving union the run a round.

"Devout Christian Israel Folau says while he admires the decision of Canterbury star William Hopoate to stand down from playing rugby league on Sundays due to his religious beliefs, he won't be asking the Australian Rugby Union to grant permission for him to follow suit.

Hopoate sits out the first of his three Sunday matches this weekend, in line with his Mormon beliefs, and it has divided football fans. Some say it isn't fair on his teammates, while others praise Canterbury for allowing a player to follow his heart.
Folau was raised as a Mormon before he converted to the Assemblies of God in 2011 and often credits God for his athletic prowess and success as a Wallaby, Waratah, in rugby league and in the AFL.

"I certainly applaud William's belief and his faith, but I won't be doing that," Folau said of standing down from Sunday football. "I have a different view and perspective of the way I play sport.

"I think God has given everyone a certain gift or talent ... I believe the talent I have is from God.

"I certainly won't be giving up playing on Sundays because I see it as an opportunity to be giving back to the community and to touch a lot of lives.

"It is a huge blessing for me to get up and do what I love doing. [Playing] is an expression of my faith."

Bullshit is bullshit, whether or not it comes from an animal's arse, by word of mouth or out of a book carried by bludgers is irrelevant

Penrith rookie Corey Harawira-Naera is on Cronulla’s radar.

Market Watch can reveal the Sharks are keen on luring the 21-year-old from the foot of the mountains and to the Sharks next season.

Harawira-Naera made his NRL debut in round four, has featured in five games so far this season with three tries, five line breaks and 18 tackle busts.

if he keeps getting 1st grade appearances, he'll have the entire comp chasing after him soon.
