Fkn knew it.... that kid is going to be a star...
How did the sharks decide trindall, hynes, kennedy was the better combo, they are always short in the finals, Atkinson has by far the better upside in compared to all of them

Hasn’t left yet. Might not leave either.

It is a Read article after all. Keep on click baiting Mr Read

A fair bit of hype about Atkinson. Is he even that good or just better than what the Dragons have. I am not sure he will be anything more than a solid First Grader.

I could be wrong though, just my opinion.

I could say he is better than the sharks halves, yet they've locked up trindall/hynes now

Flangahan needs a good solid players

He’s already shaping the roster from one of the worst in the nrl to something decent

Damian cook is urging the dragons to also get illas from south’s instead of Atkinson

Illas they can get for like 300k pa so a bargain even if he isn’t the most spectacular half back

The Sharks should flick Kennedy and play Hynes at 1.
This is 100% what they should do. I think the issue with this is the Sharks (potentially fairly) see that this combination needs time and isn't going to deliver a premiership in 2025, it might even go backwards to come forwards from where it was in 2024. But surely it's the best move for the long-term.

Sometimes a step back can propel you much further forward than had you not taken the step back initially.

Panthers from 2018 took a back step in 2019.
Massive forward steps from 2020 on wards. Not saying Sharks would achieve the same sort of success or anything, just throwing out a recent example of a club doing this.

Agreed

This makes a million percent sense for us

He’ll play most of the season at 7, then move walker to 6 when he comes back which will ease him back. Or if Sandon kills it at 6 play Hunt at 9 & and cheese off the bench. It’s his best chance to win a comp. Purely as a league fan it makes ANZAC day even more must watch.

I do have to have a chuckle at saints. Release Hunt who now looks like going Easts. East’s release May to accommodate him. Saints going hard for May but up against two other clubs. Hmm if only Saints had a player on their books East’s wanted they could use as a trade…

Yep as it stands right night, due to injuries our spine for the first half of the comp is teddy, the chad, S Smith and ZDR/Watson.

Hunt makes that immediately a lot better whether it's in the halves or at hooker. Then when full strength he can play hooker as you say if they think S Smith is the answer and if not he plays in the halves.

Unless the Dogs come sweeping under and get Hunt. They should overpay him for a 1-2 year deal.

And they really should. They are more in need than the Roosters. But either club would be served well getting him.

Outside chance Knights? A tad closer to QLD. Might need to offload a player.

But I still say all clubs should request he retires from rep football. His rep days are done and if he wants to win a competition then he should take it seriously and stop playing for QLD.
