The latest rumour is it's a 1 year deal with 2 years in Payne's favour, basically looks like he's giving something back to Wayne before shooting off to Dubai
PNG and the tax free dollars is way more likely

I could see them offering him at least 2 million pa a season so maybe four times what he makes at souths after tax

just months after fanatics shoot up Bondi beach.

No, it's not.

A fanatical Muslim refers to an individual exhibiting extreme, uncritical zeal or obsessive, uncompromising devotion to their interpretation of Islam, often rejecting contrary opinions.

A radicalized Muslim is an individual who adopts extreme, fundamentalist interpretations of Islam, often rejecting democratic principles and advocating for the violent imposition of, or rigid adherence to, a specific, politicized version of Sharia law.

So if it's not more extreme, why did you call the terrorist fanatics?

Professor Carlo Cipolla, an economic historian, determined the golden law of stupidity. A stupid person, according to the economist, is a person who causes problems for others without any clear benefit for himself.

This definition would cover someone getting upset over a football player changing his name

It’s my opinion dickhead, why don’t you get your head out of your arse. Just because you have a different view doesn’t mean it’s right.

Stick it in your pipe and smoke it chump. I didn't say you weren't entitled to an opinion, I was replying to someone who queried if anyone was getting upset about it and you most certainly seemed to be by the post I cited.

Touched a nerve did I? Go and sod off.

Which is currently causing a problem for who exactly?
There's many different examples of stupidity, paradoxically, this " law" is an example, along with it's extremely poorly attempted application.
I would also add, placing any faith in the commentary of an economist..

Explosive courtroom documents obtained by The Sydney Morning Herald has revealed that the Melbourne Storm asked the NRL to "apply the blow torch" to Parramatta to release Zac Lomax.

A slew of documents released in the Supreme Court revealed that during a phone call between Storm chair Matt Tripp and Eels supremo Matthew Beach on January 13, that the Eels again rejected a $200,000 release fee.

“During the telephone call, Mr Tripp referred to the possibility of punitive steps being taken by the NRL against Parramatta Eels in relation to its salary cap if Parramatta Eels did not agree to the proposal being put forward by the Melbourne Storm,” according to a document the Eels tendered to the court.

“This assertion by the Melbourne Storm was intended or had the tendency to exert pressure on the Parramatta Eels in circumstances where the NRL had never communicated such a stance to the Parramatta Eels.”

It was further revealed that an alleged text from Storm CEO Justin Rodski to NRL CEO Andrew Abdo on January 21 was used to try and have the NRL pressure the Eels into a release.

“Hi Andrew, not getting anywhere at this point, can you apply the blow torch on parramatta [sic] to get this done.

Rodski added: “Lomax staying in the NRL is obviously a win for the game.”

This leads to an interesting question re PVL and his about face on suspensions etc and support for Lomax. The NRL needs to be careful now this seems to be in the open and show now the Storm put pressure on the leadership of the game.

Does...does the clause define what it means by if Wayne "leaves"?

For example does it include if Wayne leaves this mortal coil....
It’ll be a sad day when Wayne is finally buried having been a reanimated skeleton for the past 10 years.
Sadder still when Scott Minto, Darius Boyd & now Payne Haas are buried alive alongside him.

I dont really have an issue with the NRL changing their stance on Lomax, the 10 year ban was all a bit of chest beating. I certainly have an issue with them getting involved in an Eels/Storm dispute though. My concern would be where does it end, the next time we have a Lachie Galvin style situation whos to say they wont come in and remove him from his current club to another?
What the f**k?

So we have a club asking the NRL to pressure another club to agree to a deal that benefits the first club and not the second.

That's.... something

TBF they are free to ask the NRL to do whatever they want. How the NRL reacted to the request is what the story should be. If they then started pressuring Parramatta then Andrew Abdo should be sacked immediately imo

I mean I'd argue that there should be sufficient boundaries in place to make it clear that even asking that is well across the line.

But tbh my sort of eyebrow raise is more that the Storm feel comfortable straight up texting that shit to the NRL CEO. That's mental

We’re talking about a club that still openly flaunt 2007 and 2009 as Premierships. As disappointing as it is the NRL having favourites isn’t new or surprising. I still remember Todd Greenburg on the news saying they were trying to rush through Sam Burgess medical retirement so Souths could sign Latrell Mitchell, they did it in 3 weeks after it it had taken them nearly 5 months to approve Ben Matulinos earlier that year. Some clubs just know they’ll get what they ask for.

If you think that's mental then wait till you see the pictures Blake Solly texted to Abdo to get Haas over the line at Souths.
