So out of all the starting hookers in the NRL with games played/experience possibilities are Souths.
Next year Cowboys would prob have a look at him if he is available with Robson moving on.

An even better point. We need backups, and Hands might be one of the best. Why would we let him go?

Because he "knows" Smith is now the number 1 hooker at the club and he wants to be playing top grade footy.

And we beat that side the dragons, without Moses.

Last 2 games with Moses we have played top 8 sides, obviously beat the tigers and very competitive against the sharks (both equal 5th).

2011 and 2014 were supposed to be better.

2014 was a decent crop. Dunno where you got 2011 from. That was the low point between losing Brian Smith (head coach but effectively operating as the GM) and gaining Daniel Anderson (as GM).

That's why I picked him btw as he is the lowest played games.

Plays for a side that has 4 wins to our 2.


Nah I get it we need to do what we have done every year (because that worked) and not develop our own players buy hookers not wanted by other clubs like Braiyley or Starling.

It's not like we are winning the competition this or next year so why not develop Smith?

Ryles resigned Hands before they knew of Smiths ability.

They were also looking at other hookers externally and now have shown their faith in Smith.

Excellent post - I am satisfied that we are slowly building

but I have to say that I am also concerned with the fact that the second row is a glaring issue and there seems to be nothing in the air or available…it does have the potential to limit the development of the team.

Time will tell.

if you're looking at try involvements for an Eels hooker you're going to be dissapointed every time

Our halves are so dominant so all we need from our hooker is to make his tackles and provide good service

I don't think Hands would be under any illusions about how good he is. I'm sure he's on more than minimum salary, but he wouldn't be on a big top 17 salary. He'd be on less than $300k I reckon. Probably more than he can get in the UK.

If you quoted the next line I did say we were looking at outside options.

Maybe he is on what you say but sitting in NSW cup for the next year won't help sell him to anywhere and secure a future even if it's at 250 a season for the next 5-10 years still better than busting your ass at a 9-5

Moses is dominant but only played 2 games this year. Dylan Brown isn’t a dominant half.

Went to Brisbane & done Magic Round over the weekend.

I must say the NRL & City of Brisbane have done a wonderful job with how they have set it all up.

I wouldn't move it anywhere else if i was the NRL.

I think it works well Brisbane get Magic Round and Sydney keep the NRL GF.

Its a real Rugby League festival i would say its close to the Rugby League Version of Oktoberfest.

Instead of wearing a lederhosen its your team's footy jersey.

Everywhere you go in Brisbane there are people wearing footy jerseys.

What stood out on Saturday was the Warriors jerseys they certainly had the most i couldn't walk more then 1 min without seeing one.

Most pubs while packed with fans you ain't waiting 10 mins for a drink.

Its all generally pretty smoothly run and access to Suncorp is pretty easy by foot from the city.

Everyone on here loves Rugby League its certainly a bucket list i highly recommend.

And I would rather do Magic Round in Brisbane then Origin.
