Rumours and Stuff

Preston would be good but for 2027… sigh.

I see Bennett is close to signing May. Probably too big and fast and exciting for us to consider.
Trolley boy MON and JIMS MOWING operate in the dark arts of Ron Massey cup quality players. Every now and then they venture out and wow us with a signing from another teams reserve grade side.

We are truly blessed to have these fine men leading the way.

I think you underrate how much merkins cost. JAC would be on $600k+ and Tuivaiti could be on $400k next year.
You could be right with Tuivaiti but knowing our R & R Committee it could probably be closer $300k but highly doubt JAC on $600k. We got him for bargain basement price and still expect him to be relatively cheap at $400-450k.

All this Gus talk animosity. I wish we have the same level of GM. Instead we have dopes. Absolute plodders in charge. He can identify a good players and lands them. He’s shrewd, ruthless and plays his cards close to his chest. He’s passionate about his team. Can we see any of these things about the imported idiots in charge? They are not Parra people, it doesn’t worry them if we come last.

All these morons are good at is giving ticket discounts 24 hours before a game because nobody wants to watch the shit show they created.

There is talk in the NFL about tweaking some rules to try to get rid of the quarterback sneaks because they are predictable, ugly, boring and bad TV and there are too many of them (they are apparently up 300% this past season). Also fans don't like the predictability of that being the play call. Philly would run a QB sneak on any 3rd and short play and if it failed they would just run it again on 4th down knowing it would succeed.
Shouldn't NRL apply this logic to, for example, bombs and do something about them?
Why isn't there at least a couple of commentators talking about it.
A problem with bombs is the game seems to love them - has made rules and rule interpretations to encourage more of them.
I am not saying ban them but make rule changes to make them less predictable - such as if the opposition catch it they get a 7 tackle set or a "free play".
They are so predictable commentators rarely even call them anymore as if to say "you know what is happening on the last tackle".
