The answer is 3 years too late (edit...I know how accuracy is important here 2 years 6 months) ....the more accurate answer is 8years and 9 months ago.

There you go so 1 sacked in 8.75 years. Feel better pedant? Is 2 in 11 years more acceptable?
If you’re going to carry on like an utter f**kwit as you so often do, then yeah, it is important to be accurate.

Russell doesn’t have the size, power or line running ability to be an edge forward. He’s a centre or a winger and in most other clubs would be the backup up centre / winger

yeh nah, wasn't to be taken too seriously given the circumstances.

Have we f**king signed anyone yet or what?!

here's the problem...

there are about a combined amount of 70 NRL spots ( maybe more?? ) currently available atm, about half those spots need to be taken up by round 1 ( I believe it's 28 per club ) the elephant in the room is that there are no viable options out there meaning that T30 spots will be handed out to a bunch of kids and some journeymen who's careers are all but over.

so the issue is.

* There are no clubs willing to give up experienced and decent players on reasonable coin.
* There are no clubs willing to take a bloke like Matto on at the coin he's currently on.
* we're almost a month into pre season training and the longer it takes the harder it is to find someone who can fit your needs.
* it'll be even more difficult when teams start playing and injuries begin to kick in.

the reality is this..

we won't be signing any new players of note for 26, we will however promote within and MON and Jim will tell us how a development club like ours is doing wonderful things to give youngsters a decent shot at the big time despite the fact that theyre just not up for it.

expect blokes like Araz Nanva and Mohammed Alemedeine to be offered a top 30 deal soon.

And still won most of our games.

BA finals career

9 games against strong sides (not 7th ranked 8th except for Cowboys ) for 1 win.
An amazing 11%

3/3 against - Garbage
All played at Parra Stadium.
A tight win against Knights
Trashed Canberra and Brisbane

2014 he had two games to end season to make finals against 2 of the worse sodes in the NRL and choked. They were finals like games. 0/2

So he finishes with 60% win rate against garbage sides for finals style games.

This should be expected with expansion. Everyone should be weaker, and that includes us. It sucks but what is to be done about it? The players we want are also wanted by other clubs. We did well to get Pezet so close to the start of preseason. Plenty of clubs could've used him, including a couple that finished above us on the ladder this year (Raiders and Dogs).

Luckily Sarantinos and MON have invested in the pathways in recent years, and we have a bunch of talented youngsters we can promote. It's very exciting.

Cherry picking a very small sample of games there. You need to look at his career win rate overall, otherwise you're just pushing an agenda.

You already admitted most of our players were garbage. Now you refuse to blame them for playing poorly?

lets not dismiss the fact that other clubs have a much stronger hold on T30 talent than we have atm, and for all we know that probably also have a stronger pathways program.

the argument has and will always be that we should be doing better...

Peter Badel in the Brisbane press is reporting we are aggressive looking
at Shibasaki and Jesse Arthur’s, that’s to be expected , but let’s see if they are actually successful. The front office has been
Interested in few players but haven’t completed their signing, let’s hope they get them done.

A few other clubs do, but I'd say we're as good as most clubs. We proved that in the second half of the year when Ryles started getting the best out of them.

Obviously. Every club is always trying to improve. But for us that just might mean remaining patient while our pathways produces talent. That's one area where we are objectively better than most clubs, with two SG Ball grand finals in three years. We also had a higher than average number of under 21s (and even u19s and u18s) feature in reserve grade this year.
