Yep don’t understand how shibaski is now a marquee player, got lucky and good luck to him, but I wouldn’t be paying anything above 500k tops
He got pretty fkn lucky then. Qld and Australian rep. Credit where it’s due I’d say. I do however agree you wouldn’t want to pay through the nose due to his age but he’d look good in our side too.

Moses is a great example of a player who peaked under the former coach. He has been in decline since 2023 as his body began to fail him:

I suppose playing for Australia and being dominant in SOO doesn’t count. f**k you’re a dribbler.

lets not dismiss the fact that other clubs have a much stronger hold on T30 talent than we have atm, and for all we know that probably also have a stronger pathways program.

the argument has and will always be that we should be doing better...
To win the g/f you need 2 important ingredients imo along with decent to good players in other positions.

One is a good spine, and we're almost there with one of the better spines, and hopefully the young players will improve even more this year.

The other is an aggressive pack of forwards and we're a long way short there. I reckon all the good coaches who've won premierships know that and that is the reason Roosters sacked May, good player but lacks mongrel, the quintessential gentle giant. NAS would help provide that for us, with the downside of penalties and suspensions, but I don't see that hard edge in our other forwards. Maybe the coaches can install that in our young forwards coming thru but until we have that I highly doubt we'll win anything soon!

I agree that we lack an alpha middle with a bit of merkin in him, it's just a shame that Emu didn't work out because he had the build and the temperament to do some damage.

we also lack a class edge that can do some serious damage to the opposition although we have a couple of kids in our pathways that may well provide the answer.

we do however have some really good mobile middles who can play before the line with the ability to break a defensive pattern apart, that's been a massive up for Team Ryles!

we're not a top 8 side atm but we're not far away from it but everyone here agrees where the improvements are needed, the frustrating bit is I don't think our football department has done enough to improve the squad, in actual fact we're worse off in at least 1 area.

we can only be so reliant on our pathways players.

well the reason why I mentioned Tago is because we no longer have an out an out back up winger in our T30..

Renisini is a centre.

I'll go further...we don't even have a winger you'd regard as a potential NRL player of the future, Lorima Rokosuka might be a chance I suppose but he's only just started his Flegg career and has some deficiencies in his game that seriously need addressing.
What about Cyrus Bloomfield? Has speed and played for Schoolboys RU against NZ and killed it. Or is he too raw and too young? Wouldn't be the first person to be plucked from lower grades and kill it in NRL.

well he's not training with NRL atm but I guess he may be the pick of a few we have that can do the job.

Dominant was he? He had one great game last year, behind a dominant pack, and good on him. But let's not pretend he's suddenly some first choice rep star.

He had a great season but lucked out getting an Aus jersey, I don’t think he deserved it but was last man standing at the right time of year.

I think he’s a 400k player. Maybe 500k to the Bears trying to make a kill.

I really think he would look dead average again in a different system.

Peak Moses is 2024 onwards. The penny finally dropped for him. He owned origin and was one of the premier halves in the game when he got on the field.

He hasn’t had a performance like that at club level for years. It was a flash in the pan. Like Hawkins’ huge game in the NRL last year. An outlier.
