But Sami is competent enough already in both positions and while he has his flaws as much as Kelly.

I agree i think his a stronger ball carrier but also looks to have more mongrel in him and that flexibility to play both positions he offers more then Kelly.

Agree 100%, I think Sami is just a better all round footballer.

He definitely isn’t perfect but you are right he can play centre or wing admirably. Stronger than Kelly, better finisher, younger.

I’d have Sami walk straight into our back 5 somewhere, not sure Kelly even makes it.

Regardless hopefully Ryles can get the best out of him, hardly inspiring but he definitely adds experience and better depth than what we had previously.

I could be wrong but I sense he might be starting the decline very early.. He will go from one of the best wingers we've ever seen to flushed out of system fast I reckon. His speed and quick feet are look gone for good . He still has his power but if that drops 15% it's game over.

Have the Titans indicated a willingness to let Sami go? They supposedly told Kelly 2026 would be his final year at the club, which is where this opportunity has come from.

He actually debuted fairly late for such an elite outside back. I suppose being that ‘slow’ he had to wait for his power to reach elite levels before he was ready to offer much in first grade.

He was 19 and had to push DWZ and Mansour out.
I could be wrong but wingers nowdays that are being used as battering rams arent going to have long careers like for example the FOX who can go till he is 33....
It's like running backs in NFL. They burn them out by 28.

I’m assuming it’s for 2026 and I’m still not sold on Simonsson mentally right and certainly he isn’t physically, so he would absolutely improve our top 17 next season. But I still hope there’s a bigger target for 2027.

I don’t mind Kelly at all! He’s a genuine first grade centre and a strong bugger. He isn’t a superstar but I would have him and Russell in centres and let Penisini start in reserve grade.

Yeah I liked him from Manly days.

I think we do have a stronger 17 with his recruitment because 1 of the 3 will miss out which means they need to stay on their game, train harder. Competition creates better performance
