His phone's ringing off the hook because these player managers want a superannuation payout for their players. No wonder they're pissed at having to deal with him. Koloamatangi will be 33 at the end of his current deal and probably the highest paid forward in the game. This has bitten us on the arse before, so why would we do it again?

Well we know they offered Maloney $200k nearly ten years ago. TPAs for Origin players would have to be a lot more nowadays. The salary cap is about $2.5M more than it was back then, so a player of Maloney's level would be getting about $250k in TPAs now.

You are still telling the story and not answering how much the players are getting through your TPAs and why these are the new PO..

Because they have form. Do you reckon Maloney was the only one?

What you want me to start going back and pluck POs like you have? They dont do them any more and still sign players that are wanted by other clubs. We have signed players that are not wanted by their current club or had no club.

So spare us the BS on POs and TPAs we have been terrible in the recruitment retention and development under the current HOF.

The more crucial question is how come he can't sign quality without PO's while other clubs can and don't bust the bank doing it?
That is a crucial question and we know TPAs make a huge difference in recruitment and retention because a bunch of clubs have been busted for it including ours. You think this shit isn’t ongoing? What are merkins talking about when they mention Roosters sombrero or Broncos dollars?

Brilliant analysis. Well done
It wasn’t an analysis, it was a question that he thinks is answered by incompetence.

I get you want someone to blame, but until you can guarantee there’s no imbalance in TPAs and other rewards outside the cap, the best explanation is that we are one of the clubs following the rules, as you’d expect with Sarantinos as CEO. He would know very well all about our attempts to match the big clubs with TPAs, and how we got caught, and what it would mean for his job if we got caught again.

i'm stunned he wasn't shown the door after giving every man and his dog in the team player options
thank god we re-signed mitch and took them out or i doubt he'd still be here
More to the point Dylan Brown was blocking the pathway of two halves that we eventually lost. Worse, the player option in his contract gave him the power.
The terms of that contract, and/or the naive belief Drown wouldn’t leave, cost us THREE halves.
Edit: and delivered us Pezet.
How he has a job after that is astounding.
