My issues with Foran are that:
1) 8 months ago he was suicidal and Parra released him in good faith so he could get himself the help he needed to STAY ALIVE. The level of mental anguish that someone is in that drives them twice in 3 months to attempt suicide is rarely resolved within 6 months;

Speaking from personal experience, this is patently untrue. These are very personal issues that often depend very much on one or two core issues, and sometimes hinge on something that seems incredibly minor

2) Whether his TPA's were on our cap or not, unless he signed with the Warriors for 2017 and the Dogs for his new contract for the same amount (CAP and TPA total), then he has effectively taken a pay cut that we may have been able to afford if given the chance;

Yes but to do that we would have to release him from his contract (which we did) and then re-sign him. After the whole salary cap fiasco, I'm not sure that would have washed with the NRL.....

Having said that, as much as I like him as a player and still think he was the right fit for our squad, I wish him well personally and hope the Dogs get the spoon while ever he is wearing their jersey.

Well that's a given, I hope the Dogs get the spoon regardless.....

i wouldn't either but why should he cop a payout to "retire" and walk away then just waltz back only six bloody months later and sign a new contract with NO reimbursement to us whatsoever?

Mate he never retired. He took leave from the game. We released him from his contract. No idea where you got retirement from.

Like I said a year ago Foran is a garbage person. How can he miraculously return to Sydney and now play for the Dogs? What a low grade piece of shit.

Mate, not defending the POS, but if you think our off field dramas last year didn't compound forans issues, then I'll give it away.

Unfortunately my personal experience differs somewhat from yours, which indicates only that there is no clear cut timeframe for the resolution of suicidal issues and thoughts, hence my use of the word rarely above. From what I know of the issues that Foran was suffering from, all I can say was somewhat surprised he has resolved them so quickly.

My unstated assumption was that the NRL was working with us on helping Foran at the time and would/should/could have shown some leniency towards us helping him.

Thankfully, I have never had such thoughts or experiences. The main issue with this situation is he is an absolute gun on the field, someone who also makes his team better. He replaced our 'favourite son' as our marquee man, forming a mouth watering halves combo. Our start to the season was solid giving a success starved club and fans hope and expectations.
When it all fell apart, fans (including myself) who are un-attached to him and his circumstances were impacted due to the excitement and long overdue genuine finals hopes being ripped apart. Then the salary cap drama hit and it snow-balled from there.
I don't think anyone wishes this on anyone, it's just a shame that a fairytale that kicked off with so much promise, was crushed so easily.

The poor old Tigers are f**ked, while two strong clubs just get stronger. Gotta love the cap it's working just fine.
Hey hey hey, wait a minute. Did I see one page back that SKD was on his way to Newcastle? So its a like for like replacement....

Geez, Nathan Brown had undone some of his good work if he has agreed to take SKD. Merkin has worse hands than Matthew Wade and Peni Terepo combined!

So now that the big signings and relevant to'ing and fro'ing is more or less out in the open, can someone, anyone, tell me what the tweet was over on TCT that was asked to be taken down and just how close or realistic a chance we were to landing Tedesco and anyone else we were supposedly about to announce... Avi? Stagg's?? Miatch???

Nah, I think we need a big starting prop, of the Maria Hargreaves mould. Sam is big, but I don't reckon he's what we need (at least as first preference).

I reckon Hindy111 was right....we should sign John Asiata. Play him at lock, start Brown at prop. Yeah ok Brown isn't big but he's well on the way to being top shelf regardless....

Actually I stand by what I said a while back. Sign Agnatius Paasi and play him at lock

If Paul Kent is even remotely close to correct about the Dogs needing to clear 2.5 million in the cap to fit Foran and Woods you would think we would be banging on their door about David Klemmer.

I think we would probably have been better off letting the Roosters resign Evans and we took Hargreaves off their hands.

Meh. Overrated, fat and probably overpriced. With Mannah, Matagi, Brown, Vave, Alvaro, Evans contracted as props it's a definite pass. Rather re-sign Terepo

why should we sign up the dogs leftovers to help them clear the decks for new signings? give them nothing

Our pack needs a leader not a 15 min bench player!! Graham is who we need.

Brett Morris would be ok at the right price but probably more then we want to pay for a winger.

I reckon they see Klemmer, Woods and Jackson as the cornerstones of their pack for the next 5 years. They'll look to shed the likes of Kasiano, Tolman, Eastwood or Graham before Klemmer and Jackson IMO...

Apparently Woods has stated he doesn't want to see Graham leave, so he will be staying... (apparently Woods signing includes having a say in future retention & recruitment I guess....)

I reckon Klemmer is probably the only contracted player they wouldn't release. Him and woods are best mates and probably one of the reasons they got woods. Didn't the tigers go close to getting Klemmer a while back because of their friendship
