The problem with that is whatever deals are genuinely sourced by the manager don't make our offer to the player any more competitive. If Hayne is really after money (and in a couple of years he could be unemployed for the rest of his life) then he will take the best offer as well as whatever money his manager can wrangle.

His own fault. If he returned to the eels he would of been hailed. I'm sure he would of been fans favourite and merchandise and his brand would of soared. He also would of been looked after by the club after footy life.

He took the quick cash. I always thought it was a silly short term option and not a smart one for his long term future.

I'm still trying to work out why we couldn't afford Kevin Kingston, especially when guru jr was going to take a pay cut

After all the Dogs players did it to stay together and win a GF the NRL changed the rules as thought it was unfair.

2 different players.

Hayne is far more talented but apparently players prefer to play with Reynolds.

Who knows the truth really?
Forget that bullshit. He is a once in a generation player. If he genuinely wants to come back at a competitive price then if we don't consider it we are f**king mad. I truly believe that nobody can handle him except Arthur or perhaps Bellamy and he ain't going to the Storm.

Don't forget if it wasn't for Hayne pushing for BA he would have probably missed out on the coaching gig at Parra.

BA is not stupid. At the right price he would sign him because we would have a greater chance of winning the comp.

In addition, imagine the marketing advantages and sponsorship opportunities of him returning. Organisations out west would be lining up. It would be massive. A truly great story if we jagged a comp.

If Hayne will play for 750k net impact on our cap I'd take him. If we have already committed the bulk of next year's Marquee allowance, that will probably be tricky.

I wouldn't go any higher, given the risks associated with his changes of moods and what he wants to achieve in his life (which is all absolutely fine....but it affects your value in the labour market).
