I hope we re-sign him, but fans jizzing themselves over how well he's going aren't noticing any of the things he's not doing. Things that all the top hookers (and Kaysa Pritchard) have been doing.

Well Pritchard isn't currently doing it because he's injured, like he has been for most of his career.

I still can't believe that someone seriously suggested that the only way to measure whether a player is good is by evaluating the performance of their team.

Possibly one of the most ridiculous things ever said on this forum.

I think it's someone just trying to out-Pou the Pou. It happens. Some of them think I argue from positions with no basis in fact.

One thing that stats don't tell you is a dummy halves service, and it's light and day between him and Kaysa.

I'm sure our forwards are enjoying the difference.

But stats tell us Kaysa is much better so he must be.

Actually they do. A dummy half providing good service will have low errors and high line break assists. Name a quality dummy half at another club and let's compare him to our guys.

So you would expect our forwards to be getting higher metres per carry with King at dummy half?

Have you even seen the stats? Which stats do you expect would be higher for Kritchard and which would be higher for King?

You are the stats man Pou, i think they are overrated but you are the expert so what would i know???

I know Kaysa leads our line speed and hits like a mack truck, he was normally first man in a tackle so always going to miss more than King. They both have strengths and weaknesses in their game. Both could work quite well as a double act, my biggest worry with both of them is their ability to stay on the field. But if IDG does retire i think we can afford to keep both of them and keep bringing on our 20's kids who seem to be doing well.

My argument was that stats don't always tell the full story and that you can come up with any stat to suit your argument, not what your suggesting above, which I never actually ever inferred. Pou always uses cherry picked stats to prove a point, but ignores stats that put holes in his argument.

Do we have another potential 9 coming through the 20s?

Don't think removing Isaac from the cap will mean a massive difference, he had the opportunity to go to Superleague but took the equivalent of what a 1 year contract was worth over there and take the same amount over 2 years to stay home with the family.

Except you couldn't. You can only provide the stats that are there.

I agree that stats don't tell the whole story but the way some of you carry on you'd think the stats actually lie to hide the truth. They don't.

Which stats do I ignore? If we're going to prove an argument it's always better to provide something (even stats) than nothing.

We allegedly have the next Cameron Smith coming through SG Ball, but Kyle Schneider is only 17 this year. It remains to be seen whether he becomes physically suitable for NRL but this kid makes every rep team and has all the skills. He might only become the next Cameron King instead, which is still vastly better than most NSW under 18 reps ever do.

He is contracted until 2020, when he turns 20.

That's bullpoop. It's exactly what you inferred when you said this.

Is there any more important statistic than win/loss? He can only beat what his in front of him. Any other statistics are just over complicating what is otherwise a pretty simple game.

And this is false because I'm the stats nerd. I don't ignore any of them. If your argument is that my opinions are entirely based on stats then fair enough (though it is incorrect) but don't then say I cherry pick the stats. If my opinion is based on stats then it based on all of them. If I 'cherry pick' it is to illustrate a point, not to form an opinion.
