Incidentally, the Panthers played the four 'genuine contenders' (Storm, Roosters, Broncos and Sharks) only once each, the least amount of any other team in the comp. They also played all four in the first 9 rounds.

Probably explains their poor start to the season and their run to the finals now.

Interesting. We only play Bronx twice and got storm without origin stars.

Either way both clubs, especially ours have been crippled with injuries along with cowboys.

Bloody good draw we've had as well.

I agree we had a good draw. We also got cowboys the first time without JT but not the 2nd time.
I still dont think we have fielded our best 17 this year. And with Gutherson gone we wont now.

We did have a pretty horrendous start to the season though with only 1 of our first 6 games at home which also included trips to the GC & NZ and also played the premiers as well and a trip to Canberra where we have always struggled.

The GC game was a short turn around too from the Sunday to Friday.

So it hasn't been a walk in the park either.........

Yeah I don't think there is any arguing that we had a charmed schedule on the whole but neutrals are very quick to forget how rough our start to the year was in both opposition and home/away scheduling.

Our draw also looked a fair bit more intimidating coming into the season. Titans were meant to consolidate their position as a Top 8 team, Warriors picked up the entire NZ spine and Dogs were meant to be competitive at the very least. I'm definitely not complaining at how it all played out as we were due for a bit of luck!

Don't forget we played Raiders twice in the first 11 rounds, they finished 2nd last year. It's not our fault they have been shit!!

We also played titans / dogs twice this year who both played finals last year.


Additionally 7 of our first 11 games were against last years finalists, with only 4 home games during those first 11 games.

Not sure if we have been that lucky.

Storm had a soft 12 games at start.

We also began year with 1 mill under cap right? Allowed us to get Moses.

KE out for first 7 games.

We than lost Terepo and Frank early for the bulk of season.

Bevan has been hampered by injury most the season.

Hoffman,Scott,Kaysa long stints on sideline.

Gutherson out for season

Norman and Jennings missed about a month.

And lets not forget the Semi saga for first 10 weeks. Thst was an ongoing issue.


Best part of the year was Moses coming. But also Gutherson and Browns form. And the suprise form of Auvau and W.Smith who have played a big role imo.

We also played NZ when in decent form. And dogs close to full strength.

We havent met too many teams while they had injury crisis.

Yeah we did cop a small bit of bad luck coming up against the Warriors with Foran just coming into the team. They hadn't had the chance to infect him with all their Warrior-ness yet and he had a blinder.

Also the one game Thurston played in the past 4 months was against us...and he absolutely killed it!

Did anyone watch Ray Price last night on League Legends??

In one interview he accused two referees of being crooked (Hartley and Cook) and said he was responsible for Wally and Turvey being overlooked for selection on 82 roos tour. Ha.

Also, admitted when he played Sterlo in City Country he took it easy on him so he would not get hurt.

He is one of a kind Pricey for sure.
