While it would have been great had he come back, him not signing with us isn't the end of the world and had he signed with the Waratahs or some other rugby or UK superleague club i would have no issue.
My only issue is that he flat out lied to us. Said he would only ever come back to Parra if we wanted him. We made an offer which showed we wanted him. Oh but the offer wasn't as much as the Titans. Well he also said on countless occasions that money isn't a factor for him. Either way he lied.
Also, do you think the offer we sent, which was only a media report anyway so we don't know the true figures, was our final offer. There is always going to be some bargaining going on until the final amount is agreed on.

Marquee allowance is $600k available to each club that allows club sponsors to sponsor players and can be guaranteed in the playing contract

The NRL got rid of the "war chest" set up by Dave Smith that allowed the NRL to top up contracts earlier this year

If the NRL has opened the chest for Hayne then they have to do it for one player at everyclub or it will end up like the AFL where teams like GWS and the Suns got help and the Swans and Lions did for years and made the landscape very unfair.

I am thinking that maybe the coaching staff/management were maybe a bit too complacent in thinking he would sign no matter what our offer was (and how high other offers would be) as well as taking too long to get it done.

Also, I reckon Parra's offer and BA's comments were made public yesterday as damage control to try and save face becuase they knew he was heading to the titans
