Well I think he lacks the speed and power game to be a wing. Bevan on wing atleast has speed.
I am not sure if Gutherson would offer much more on wing then if had a Hoffman.
We know this because Gutherson didn't offer much last time he played wing. His strengths are his defence and his work rate - both wasted on the wing. At least he is good under the high ball I suppose.

I bet Gutho is faster than Rvarrrr. I would theorise that we would end up with a 'back 5' rather than pigeon hole people into set positions.
You need to pigeonhole them in defence though. There are no benefits to randomly switching people in defence. They need positions that suit their strengths and weaknesses, and preferably they need to form defensive combinations.

To many people have short memories and forget players go up and down on form...

Jennings was average in 2015 and 2016. 2017 he was top 3 centre in game.

He's allegedly not on superstar money. Anyway, you don't think there are any star wingers in the game? They get more carries than the star centres.
Yes but Hayne thinks he's Billy slater. Can you picture Slater on the wing. Usually the better wingers move to fullback.

Wouldnt be surprised if BA was looking at Hayne's defensive capabilities more then his attack when he was considering to sign him.

If you look how we defence, we play a compressed defensive line, with wingers / centres pushing in to stop the attack -they rush up quickly trying to stop the play (it happens to often, not to be our game plan). Then they are expected move across depending on what is being thrown at us . Taka did struggle at times due to his mobility to switch from pushing in to pushing across / chasing (see cowboys try in the final).

Hayne would be perfect under this defensive structure, he is strong enough to rush up and make the one on one tackle. But also mobile enough to change direction depending on the attack.

We could be a lot stronger defensively with Hayne at centre. Exciting times!!

No, the more suitable wingers move to fullback. Hayne played fullback throughout his career to increase his involvement. But we didn’t do that with Radradra so why would we necessarily do that with Hayne. Like Arthur said, we don’t need him to do everything now, which means we don’t need to move him into the spine just to get the ball into his hands. We can play him out wide where he is better suited.

Everyone got wood over Haynes tackle in his first game back in the NRL when he stopped that try. In fact, being the occasion it was, he did pretty well that game from memory and I guess because the game was all about him. If he finds some purpose he plays well and hopefully this is what Parra gives him.
Be great if his standards were much lower and he rose to the occasion just by being on the park but you have to do whatever it requires to get the best out of your players.
