Top player. Id dare say that we would be a better team with him than if we had Semi.
Have to disagree.

Mansour doesn't have the speed of Semi imho.

In terms of tackle busting, they are similar but i would lean to Semi.

Workrate similar but prob just Mansour.

Attitude is hard to tell but prob Mansour. The reason i say hard to say is Semi's teammates all seemed to love playing with him.

I personally would take Semi every day of the week over Mansour. Each to their own.

However, with no Semi, Mansour would be a great signing.

Semi ...... daylight ..... every other winger

Unbelievable talent ... but plenty of excess baggage

Combination of Mansour and Rapana.

Mansour lacks speed and the spectacular but his general hit ups are probably slightly better. He isnt going 90 mtrs solo. Very simmilar style to Auvau imo but just better at everything then him.

Semi hadnt peaked. No comparrison to the Semi of the last 12 games last season.

Just put your pants back on
That's what "Gus" said.

Speaking of pants...

A bloke goes to the doctor to get his ingrown toe nail checked out. The doc has a look at his toe and then says "you will have to remove your pants". Patient is a bit shocked but doctor assures him "trust me, i am a doctor."

So after a short hesitation the patient takes off his pants and says "where should i put these?"

Doc says "right there next to mine."

Edit: By the way my toe nail has fully recovered now, if you were wondering...

I don’t reckon we really need Mansour – I reckon Auva’a can/will be just as good for less than half the price.

2017

Mansour – 17 games, 5 tries, 81% tackle success rate (86 tackles), 17 runs for 167 m (6.3 tb) – 9.8 m per run

Auva’a – 16 games, 7 tries, 82% tackle success rate (160 tackles), 12 runs for 113m (2.1 tb) – 9.4 m per run

Attack wise, based on stats Mansour is better, however we need to factor in Semi probably took a few opportunities to ruck it out which Auva’a will get this year. Interestingly however they both make very similar metres per run.

Auva'a is also quick - look at the break that lead to Jennings try in the trial.

Obviously Auva’a has issues with the high which he needs to improve, however last year was his first year at winger.

Mansour is the better player but is he worth paying twice as much ?

Auva’a also probably has improvement in him as he gets more experience at wing. Will be interesting to see how he goes this year.

I reckon Auva'a over 40m would be top 5 quickest at the club. There was a few times last year he burned his opposite

I thought he wasn't that quick, he surprised me a few times last year with his pace - the try in the first game against the broncos was brilliant

Mansour was also coming off a knee reco. They reckon it takes 18 months after a knee reco to get back to your best so that makes his stats even more impressive.

In summary, i would pay double for Mansour over Auvua'a

Mansour 2016 stats where he played 25 games are very similar to his 2017 form except he got 16 tries.

if there is any truth in the rumour (big if) it sounds like we may have given up on Semi cuz that is probabaly Semi's money being spent on Mansour

Fair enough.

Appreciate you sharing the stats.

The big thing, that i understand with knee recos, is getting back speed. Hence Mansour prob never lost his tackle busting power game but took a while to get back his speed.

I honestly believe he would be a superb signing for 2 reasons. Our current weakness is the wing position and he is prob the best player we can sign for that position. Also with him you are getting 2 players in one i.e. a great winger and a bloke who can help your forwards. I am all for it.

We will have to check him out more closely on Sunday. Lets hope he doesn't quite have a blinder but decent enough.

Regarding his knee reco - It may be reflected in his tries in 2016 (16 tries) compared to 2017 (5 tries).
