Rumours and Stuff

Nah a bunch of slobs on the internet have a better idea of how to pick a team than some bloke who gets paid to do it. How is Canberra's huge pack going this year? Or the Dogs or the Cowboys?
RS is like a cancer. You're fine first up but eventually you get eaten from the inside out. RS can't coach longer than 2 years before the players don't respond to his antics. He has reached his use by date but has another 1 or 2 years left on his contract.

To rank them 1 to 6 (or whatever) is simplistic and ignores the fact that they play different roles. But I agree he isn't so good that he will walk straight back into a winning team unless there are injuries. But I suspect Arthur rates him much more highly than you do. He also rates Tony Williams a lot higher than you do. These two are legit first graders, with more attacking ability than most of our middle forwards.

Except the Roosters have some excellent middle forwards, and as I said, Taukeiaho (an absolute gun) overtook him. It's no different to Nathan Peats at Souths or Corey Norman at the Broncos.

All of Evans attacking prowess has come off the back of a pretty good attacking middle unit of the Roosters and the platform laid by those ahead of him in the pecking order at the Roosters. I'd imagine Evans would go pretty good most weeks if you replaced the Roosters middle forwards with ours too. But, our middle forwards don't have the same kind of attacking ability.

We're now expecting him to be that main attacking middle player who lays the platform for the team. He's shown no propensity in the past that he is capable of being "the main middle attacker" style of player and suggestions otherwise has no foundation other than hope.

He might be able to be that player needed, but he is also just as likely not capable of being that player.

Trouble is, from what BA has said before the season started, he over-estimated our forwards ability and discounted the loss of Semi. Maybe he is too close to the action and can't see the obvious (can't see the forest for the trees). Maybe he needs to take a step backwards and have an honest assessment of the players and recruit accordingly and get rid of those non-performing. We seem to hang onto players one year too long rather than letting them go one year too early.

IMO BA's philosophy has been to injury-proof the team at the expense of building a very good first 17. Therefore our team is fairly average across the board with very few stars. Unfortunately, our performances have reflected our team's makeup and so far have ranged from average to diabolical. One can hope that today is the day we'll get our first win but I'm really worried about this year. Looking at the improvements the bottom 8 teams from last year have made to their rosters I honestly doubt our ability to make the top 8 this year. This is the year BA has to become proactive and start improving the roster for next year and he has to start with the forwards.
Nice insight mate.

Has put on too much weight imo. Played about 10kg lighter at Parra and needs to get back to around that weight again.

It's an Easter miracle. Glenneel has just said that a prop needs to LOSE weight. To say I'm shocked about this revelation would be an understatement

Hasn't been the first time I've stated Paulo needs to lose weight, same with Papalli and same with Vave. Have said it before if you read what I said rather than believe the dribble Bazal sometimes writes.

Well the shocks keep coming with the lesser rated teams beating the better rated. Seems to be lasting longer this year than last, maybe this will indeed be the closest year ever!

They’re not worn out except when the opposition have all the ball, which has happened twice this year. Otherwise they are capable of high workloads. That’s the upside of their lack of size.

They may or may not be contributing high work loads depending on the game, but with very low impact due to their limited skill level and size.

They're not all in the team for their impact. Didn't you watch last year? With equal possession they shut down the Storm pack in Melbourne.

Well he's only been playing 30 minutes per game due to our lack of possession, with over 21 attempted tackles in that time. Given more possession he will play longer minutes and get more runs. In 40 minutes he will double his attacking output from last year as I said.

Pou you keep going on about possession as if it will just somehow magically even itself out or turn our way. You only get an equal or more possession, if the team you are playing is playing more poorly then you or the refs are less happy with the oppositions infringements then yours or predominantly you EARN IT!

Our forwards haven't earned the right to take a dump so far this year, let alone to the privilege to use the ball and reduce their workload in defense.

Domination is the name of the game. We are the dominated and butt f**ked ones out there this season for all to see but you. Are you a man of the Lord Pou? Is that why you are in denial of what your eyes are truly seeing? If that is what's going on here, I'm afraid the good word isn't going to save us, but what will are at least a couple of big angry, mad merkin gorillas that like to dish out the pain and suffering to all who transgress us.

Then they died in the arse the week later as they had been doing throughout the year prior. That's the point big packs and big games like that wore them our a lot. The signs were there. The coaching staff didn't see or do enough about it. Now we are reaping the rotting fruit that they have sown.

I undertstand exactly what Ram is saying. It is not that Mannah or Alvaro arent NRL players. Its more that we have a whole squad of them it seems.

For our team to become finals bound we need T rex, Terepo,KE to have huge seasons. The rest will do a job and fill in the pieces. Those 3 will determine if we have any grunt.

Kaysa also needs to step up. BA neglected the hooking position.

You're right, we need to improve our performances, like we did early last year when you thought our forwards were too small.

They didn't die in the arse, they were just outplayed by a smarter, more experienced team.

How well did the Cowboys' big pack serve them in the grand final? They were outclassed, not overpowered.
