Keep Kaysa f**king Pritchard? Kaysa Pritchard? The injury-prone little shit who's been going to be our star hooker 'next year' for the last five years? The little prick who can't even throw a five meter pass and make it land anywhere near his half-back? The little c&nt who can't even string two games together without breaking his f#cking knees or ankles or toes or some other part of his seriously f#cked up body? You want to keep Kaysa Pritchard? Do you? Really?
Are you f#cking mad or something?

Mind you, at the right price he could fill one of our 30 spots. F#ck

Goodness Ivor. Just no reply to that
Im guessing you dont exchange Christmas Cards?

How a visit to the Sydney Swans could turn around Parramatta's season

There are not many people you can turn to for advice on how to turn a 0-6 start to a season into a miracle finals appearance. However, Brad Arthur has found one.
Sin Bin can reveal that Parramatta coach Arthur was spotted picking the brain of Sydney Swans coach John Longmire on Tuesday in an attempt to turn the Eels’ season around. The Swans were in a similar predicament last year, slumping to six straight losses despite being one of the fancies for the title. Like the Eels, they were down on confidence and it appeared their year was over before it even began. Yet, somehow, the Swannies suddenly clicked, winning 14 of their last 16 games to finish the regular season in sixth spot. They then went on to beat Essendon in the first week of the finals before bowing out to Geelong.

The AFL may be the NRL’s greatest competitor but Longmire was only too happy to grant Arthur an audience to share his insights into how the club turned things around. The pair chatted for over an hour on Tuesday afternoon, tossing up ideas and perspectives.

While the details of what was discussed will likely stay between the pair, it is clear that things need to change at Parramatta. The side finished fourth last season, papering over cracks that have emerged at the club. Arthur is the first to admit that he has to take some responsibility for the poor start, but suggestions he has lost the dressing room are way off the mark. Our mail is that some individuals with vested interests - including a player manager pitching an Arthur replacement - is among those spreading the rumour about player revolt. If anything, Arthur has been too loyal to players who have not repaid the faith through performance.
“It’s certainly my understanding that Brad has not lost the dressing room,” said Eels CEO Bernie Gurr.

“He still has the ear of the players and they respect him very much.”
This is the time the club needs to support the coach. Arthur knocked back offers to join other clubs, including a $1 million-per-season offer from Manly, to stay loyal and help the club emerge from the salary cap saga.
However, there’s a feeling out west that he has too much on his plate. The football club is under pressure to cut costs after posting losses of $22 million over the past two years and it appears some corners have been cut. Members of last year’s coaching staff including Peter Gentle, Luke Burt and wrestling coach Brett ‘Bumper’ O’Farrell haven’t been replaced. The blue and golds are also one of the clubs without a dedicated head of footy.
“I’m currently doing it,” said Gurr. “It has worked reasonably well for the 15 months that I’ve been here.
“We’d be remiss not to review the organisational structure of all our departments, including football, to make sure we are on the right track. You need to keep an open mind on these issues.”

Gurr said no corners were being cut in resourcing the playing and coaching staff.
“No, not at all. On the contrary,” Gurr said.
“I’ve said to Brad in recent weeks ‘if you need any assistance anywhere, let me know.’
“If there is anything he needs within the football department, within reason, he will get it. There’s no financial pressure whatsoever on the football department.”

So they mention that the club is possibly hampering BA by not giving him the support he needs a d then follow up with a direct quote from Bernie completely rubbishing those claims

But seriously, NFI. Maybe BA thought he could handle it. Either that or Max and Bernie are on different pages. Or some other completely different reason that none of us are privvy to

I think that sounds about right re it being BS he’s lost the dressing room.

I don’t see it that way. The swans lost their first 6 or 7 last year and then ended the regular season with 14-8 win loss. It shows the humble man seeking answers from outside the box.

It does seem that Brad the nice guy has agreed to staff cuts. Is that the root of the problem ? Dunno. Or is it recruiting or what. Could be a combination. Could be none of that and just be half his squad are out if form. Maybe that 50 point loss on that hot day shocked them they have not recovered mentally.

But to say that he’s lost the dressing room means that the team dont think that he can coach, they think his tactics are poor etc. I think that was JT at the tigers, but it is not BA at the Eels.

I am not saying Pritchard should be our starting hooker next year, but you need depth!! I would happily keep him as a back up on a small contract.

Bernie only confirms this is no dedicated head of football and that he infact is filling the role.
Didn't Joey Grima replace Peter Gentle?
Burt was only the 20's coach he wasn't a NRL assistant so he has been replaced by a new Flegg coach.
So what is everybody getting at?
We haven't had a head of Football since DA go moved on by the NRL in salary cap scandal of 2016.

Grima was already here and is a skills coach, BA is covering Gentles role apparently and we let go of the wrestling coach last year which is the most damning loss of all.

We have the worst wrestle in the NRL by a mile.

Lets face facts - we have actually lost the last 8 games we have played. That is appalling at any time and completely unacceptable. We dont need a rebuild - just a handful of decent recruits. If the club were serious they would offer Ivan Cleary the world to take over from BA. That would result in Nathan joining the club as they have openly stated they want to work together. Offer them both massive contracts. I think Nathan's contract is a year longer that the old man's.

I think it is the other way around...but yes we should do exactly that.

I really think he has gotten them up for some games. The recent Penrith match certainly. Brown was a beast if you recall.
Im starting to (well not really) think our style, tactics, structures, game plan, attacking moves etc have been worked out and defences are acting accordingly. They know what we are about to do. Our defence was average last year (points against) which has worsened this year (confidence issue) and opposition coaches know our game plan. In my mind its a great opportunity to change what we are doing therby altering opposition defensive plans. Are we up to it? In my mind even if energy and enthusiasm score us a win, if we dont change our style then they will be few and far between .
I honestly hope Im wrong because it would be very difficult to change the habits learned and applied over the past few seasons.
Has anyone seen any different Eels moves this year not seen previously?
We are still wasting 4 to 5 tackles each set and we are not big enough, strong enough, fit enough or skilled enough to tire the oppositions middle.
Just my thoughts.
One thing we are poor at is offloads. Imo if you have a small pack you have to offload and move the opposition around. No good doing bash and barge with your forwards, which we do, as the bigger packs smash you. At a point against Raiders we did offload but it looked unnatural and frantic and nothing came of it. We then resumed normal routine of B & B and their bigger pack handled us easily. When was the last time a forward engaged a couple of defenders, hopefully create a hole, and get a late pass away before the line to a support to run thru? Very rare.

BA has had five years to do something about this and done absolutely nothing. Our pack is full of the same type of forward (same build, same height, same weight, no skill but solid defensively) so there is little variety. The defence has little to worry about, if they contain their man there is little worry that an offload will be happening. If a hole is created they don't have to cover it as any supporting player (if there actually is one which is normal for us) won't be getting the ball. No variety in the attack, no surprises for the defence to worry about, and this to me is the biggest weakness of our team!

Plus our inability to wrestle and hold the ruck.

And when we do have an offload the players are too deep so the opposition has time to adjust...
