No mate. Died at 75 with Alzheimers. Dementia, Huntingtons, Parkinsons and Alzheimers are all a shit way to die TBH. Thankfully my Dad's heart gave way before he forgot who he was/we were.

I knew the poor bugger had something horrible.

Cheers.

Rest in peace Daz.

Thanks for the amazing memories. The commentary of footy, Drag car racing, Olympics, 500cc Grand Prix races (Go MICK!!!), the Nutri Grain Surf Life Saving I think it was.

Terribly sad. Thanks for the memories.
Didn't he get punted from the Olympics one year for being too loud?

I was lucky enough to go to Texas with big Daz years ago for a story I was filming on 100 years of Harley Davidson (Daz loved them). Even in Texas he was too loud for them. He'd walk around everywhere saying at full volume "god, theses yanks are so fat!" He'd also call all women "darling", "sweetheart" and inappropriately compliment them.

In other words it was a completely hilarious trip. Although the other crew member and I did an awful lot of apologising on Daz's behalf in the wake of his journey.

He was a generous, friendly bloke who later eagerly gave his time for a charity event I got involved in.

Rip, Big Daz.

Sydney Roosters: Ryan Matterson

In an up-and-down start to 2018 for the Tricolours, back-rower Ryan Matterson has been a shining light. Playing 80 minutes four times (and 60-odd minutes in his other two games), Matterson's four tries in six games has already easily eclipsed his one try in 23 games last season. His defensive workload has leapt from 25 tackles per game to 37 per game while his effective rate has also climbed from 88.4% to 92.9%.

I think the event toured around the states. We just happened to shoot at the Texas Motor Speedway, from memory it was the biggest event. Stone temple pilots played, which was cool. It was 2001, because I remember the intense airport security, just after 9/11. Git a story about that too, can't repeat though based on potential self incrimination.
