On a roadtrip to Cairns about 23 yrs ago, I spent about a week frequenting the Calamvale. I was considering buying property out Coverty(poverty) Creek way and was based between Algester and Logan at a mates relative's houses. My mate and i punted on the horses and the card machines and we just could not loose. The Clamvale filled our pockets with cash and the roadkill cafe filled our bellies. On the menu were things like roo steak and croc steak and all kinds of weird shit and it was all top tucker. Great times and great memories. There was a barmaid there that was hot AF and my mate had tuned her. She said she would met us in the nightclub after her shift. We go in there and got into the $1 shots of some shit(mojito's?) or something. This ugly slurry of a thing takes a fancy to ole mate and him being the s**t he was, starts suckin face with her. In walks the glamour n sees this and goes off with the shits and ole mate dipped out. Funny stuff.

I aint reading all that. Not that bored

In my younger days. Circa 23, we got the Spirit of Tasmania back to Melbourne on the overnight and I remember getting on the drink hard watching the 60 Minutes story as old Steve Irwin had just died that week. Something clicked in me and I decided to do a number on myself. Found my way around the side of the boat and onto the roof and proceeded to find it funny to throw literally everything not bolted down overboard. It was quite funny as they obviously had no cameras or any vision behind in the night or above. We threw about 4 garbage bins overboard, basically lots of stuff I am amazed we didn't go overboard ourselves. One of those things that was hilarious at the time but makes me cringe with shame now.
Argh, to be young and indestructible again.

Boyd is a bit overrated. And with brown, mannah, alvaro, Evan, Moeroa and probably Paulo all on contract next year, I am not so sure we are looking for another middle player on top 17 money.

I say we are looking for someone that can play on the edge (or play play both middle/edge).
Didn't they say the same about Vaughan as he languished in reserve grade? Turned into a star forward with the Dragons and I'm hoping the same for Boyd. He has become stale and played very well for Australia not long ago so certainly has the ability to improve greatly.

NAS is a pipe dream and contracted to 2020 I think. I doubt he'll leave Storm unless paid huge money as clubs were chasing him previously and he stayed.
Contracted to end of next year. Thus why Scum are also looking to extend him. It's quite possibly just a leak from his manager to get Scum to pay more, especially because as you said it's possible he took unders last contract to stay meaning he would be looking to get paid this time

Reckon you could get someone cheaper who would bring the same stuff as Boyd

Yeah but you're question read like none of them were good enough in that 6 week period to warrant elevation to the 1st grade starting side, in which case why potentially f**k up your squad for the remainder of the season on a young player already contracted to the club, especially since that could also put the player's development backwards.
If you're rant was more aimed at them not being good enough for a top 30 spot (or in the case of the new rules, top 28 and then later top 29), well f**king DERRR!! That's why they have development contracts and not full contracts. Now your post here seems to indicate that if they aren't good enough to play 1st grade, they shouldn't even have development contracts, and if they are on development contracts, they are obviously not good enough for 1st grade....
Apparently all our juniors are shit as BA has promoted almost nobody from our juniors. However it seems to me that BA is terrified of making a mistake so sticks with his tried and tested players even if they are out of form and the club is playing like shit.
Nearly every coach, experienced coaches that is, promotes their juniors into their teams and gives them a go. Look at what Bennett has done, his team is filled with juniors promoted over the last few years, same with Bellemy and nearly every coach does it except so it seams BA. If BA had done so I sure some of them would have succeeded, rather than running around in other teams NRL squads. Unless he starts promoting we'll continue to lose promising juniors. Besides, why spend about $1m/yr on developing juniors if you're not going to use them?

I think you could drag a fat bloke out of your local Maccas and pay him in vouchers and he'd do the same job as Boyd.

He's turned into a big fat lump of turd

My overrated comment is based on the figures mentioned for Boyd. I suspect Vaughan signed with the dragons for a lot less (guessing $400k to $500k) then the amounts being mentioned for Boyd.

What is it with you and the word quiver atm?

Did you just read 50 Shades of Grey?

It certainly made my missus quiver....
That plastic doll in your bed with the mouth open is not your missus. The way you carry on here I doubt any woman could stand you so you have a pretend one.

Our genuine potentially good juniors are all comparatively young and we also have a lot of relatively young players in our top 17. There is also the fact pre-BA, I don't know if you remember, but WE WERE COMPLETELY SHIT! BA's options were to promote our youth into the team and hope they come good despite not really having much peer experience to guide them (see Newcastle as to how that went because until this season when they brought in a whole bunch of outsiders they were also shit), or sign a whole bunch of moderate players to help fix it. Are you suggesting he failed there? Really the only juniors from around that period we would have liked back are Twal and maybe Asiata & Seeyoumanareafunguy and only very recently Eisenhuth, plus this season the only players in our top 30 (assuming they are top 28 and unknown who and if we have filled 29 & 30) are Niukore, Davis & Vave, so it isn't like he isn't spreading game time around, it's just the rules have changed and he's limited to who he can play. In fact, there's some rumour that our 29th player is either Louganis or Mahoney and that they were very close to being called up.
I do agree though that the time is coming up for him to adapt and possibly make some very tough decisions
